How does the game play using an arcade stick? Is there an obvious handicap? I've been interested in this game for a long time, but never bought it.

Got my copy finally and it feels like absolute cheating to play with this option (and a lot of fun). I would hope they're separating out leaderboards (or locking out players with this turned on) but I doubt that's happening.
Yeah, selecting it and the honing bat girl feels like "beat the game" mode
(weirdly, I'm finding it most enjoyable to play in single-stick mode. Maybe because it sorta plays like Under Defeat, in that positioning becomes super important)

It seems that at least on the Switch, the leaderboards are region locked (at least I hope they are. I was shocked to discover that even though I'm not very good at all, apparently I'm a top 20 player. The lack of any kanji in any of the usernames indicates I'm a top 20 US player, which isn't that impressive...), but I haven't noticed any special '360' leaderboard. Just mode, character, etc.

Edit: ha! I answered this
How does the game play using an arcade stick?
Even though I didn't see it.
tl;dr I (weirdly) prefer it

I can only see 50 something arcade scores and I'm number 2.
Which would make sense if that is Australia only.
How many scores can you see?

That's not me, I'm Nugs on there too.
So must be region locked.

Full 360 dual-stick movement/shooting.

There's also a training/challenge mode of sorts that I'm not sure was in the original version or not.
Formerly known as 8 1/2. I return on my second credit!

I keep getting smoked by those big rolling balls (ahem) in stage 4. What am I missing?

I just take the other staircase and avoid that room.

Version 1.04, on Switch at least, seems to enable native 1080p rendering on Switch 2 in handheld mode. Immediately noticed how much sharper everything looks now. Nice.

So... what to do with those rolling balls? Doesn't seem that curse slows them as much as slows the rotating thingies when going through other route.

P.S.

Enjoying the game, but tbh I slightly prefer visuals in original Naomi version compared to x360/ps3/ReCurse editions.

I have the European switch version. Coolguy is 2nd and you are 3rd in Arcade mode. I'm 9th at the moment. I see 94 in Arcade All.

They showed some of Mamorukun 2 at Shooter Fes, and while it's currently in a super rough state (all stages shown took place in a grey void), it looks to be a full twin-stick experience.

Looks awfully similar to G.rev's Kokuga on 3DS, has (presumably) random card load outs with special abilities you can deploy, has similar maze-like stage layouts, the secondary charge shot is identical. Kokuga let you shoot independently of movement as well, only that the game was built around the limitations of your tank turrent not being able to rotate immediately where you want it.
