I knew learning Mahjong has been a good idea

Gotta hand it to Cave, resurrecting both Raizing AND Psikyo at the same time. And in about the least venerable way possible. :P

You should hope that Cave employees aren't reading this board, as this thread might give them ideas. Imagine it, a majong game featuring the Rose sisters, Professor Teresa, the female forms of Ageha and Tateha, Reko, Chain, Kosame, Exy (with Beltiana and Alteeno from Batsugun as super secret opponents)...

-_-;;

I asked Excellentcom about the flyer, Fannie checked with their supplier and asked if the flyer was for Ibara black label or Ibara 2 this was her response:
Dear Bob,

I asked the supplier your photos is Ibara 2 not yet know the release day.
So it looks like we get a brand new Ibara in the near future :D

I believe Ibara was shown at AOU 2005, so if they are on the same schedule, we should have Ibara 2 late June 2006 :!:

Yep, that's what I thought. Thanks for asking them to clarify. :D

According to coinopexpress.....

Ibara Black Label will fix some of the gameplay 'issues' the first version had.

Location test at HEY starting Jan. 26. Very interesting because a location test is usually done right before the official release, like 1 or 2 months. It would mean releasing a revision (Black Label) and sequel around the same time. Doesn't add up. I guess we'll know the answer soon, coming from the loke test player's feedback.

I saw it yesterday and I might play it tomorrow. I wasn't really impressed, mostly because this isn't really Ibara 2.

Ibara was a gritty shooter in a steampunk setting while this is more akin to a cute'em up.

But not exactly.

Anyways, I'll have more info soon if anyone cares.

I posted this in the other thread, but here it is again, just in case someone misses it:
I took some pics/videos of PinkSweets and Exelica which can be found here (scroll to the bottom for the videos). I was planning to write a little story with impressions etc. but I need to get some sleep. So take a look at this stuff and go back tomorrow for more details, if you wish.

In brief: I love PinkSweets and I am sorta indifferent to Exelica.

Thanks for the pics and vids of Ibara Pink Label, icycalm. Looks pretty interesting, like a spin-off featuring the same characters (Mushihime-tama, anyone?), but in a more traditional Cave-style. I'm hoping that Ibara wasn't the last of the Yagawa/Cave collabs, and that they make another Raizing-a-like shmup under the Cave banner.

I'll be watching this one with interest ^_-

The player shot and bullet patterns look just like a Raizing approach to me... I'd make a fair bet that Yagawa is programming this one again.

Maybe they should have called it "Oshaberi Chatting Recca".

Yeah, the thing seems to talk almost constantly, heh heh.

But yeah, this one definitely does look to at least lean towards the "cute 'em up" style...from what I could see, it also seemed to move away somewhat from the "Garegga style" of the first Ibara (though I might be wrong). What struck me most was the near-constant use of (from what I could tell) bullet-cancelling charge shots...of all things, it reminded me a bit of Cotton Boomerang, heh heh. I wonder if the "charge shot" that's apparently featured in the Arrange mode of the PS2 Ibara port is sort of a "preview" of that...

Jesus H. Christ. The first day I linked the videos I got about 60 people from here who came to my site and downloaded about 4.5Gigs worth of stuff. Today, I went to check the site statistics and several hundred Japanese people had swamped my servers overnight, downloading 25Gigs! And they are still coming. I think the videos must be on Hameko by now because I got several visitors from there. Or do they have to ask me to put them up?

This guy for instance. If you scroll half-way down you'll come across this:

insomniaさんで「ピンクスウィーツ」、「エグゼリカ」ロケテスト動画6つ。

This is fun. I am glad to be able to help out all those shmup fans. Damn, I should try it again sometime!

BulletMagnet: You are right, bullet-cancelling is the name of the game here. The game is very unusual in many ways. Damn, I got to sit down and write something but I just can't find the time right now.

I wonder if the Japanese people would Babelfish my impressions. How funny would that be?

Jeez, I feel like I'm on drugs.

Looking good, Kasumi.

Lace and the other girls look stunning too.

Looks like a different character artist to Tomoyuki Kotani this time around. I assume the bars at the bottom of the screen relate to the charge attack, right?

I'm not sure...the designs look very similar to his Ibara work, just with a brighter motif to them. I like the redesigned outfits. Those girls are some of my favorite character designs in recent years.

And indeed, thanks for your hard work, icy. I've had similar experiences with linkage and bandwidth when I've posted videos that came off uploaders. Video of new shooters seems to come at a premium - especially high res, high quality video like that.
