After I posted I realize I didn't comment on the sound which happens to be top notch as well. For the record I love the voice samples. The overall sound design in the game is really good. Amazing what they were able to do with such "out of date"it290 wrote:Fair point re: Hudson but I feel like the 'They're beneath the surface!' 'It's a trap!' and 'What happened here!?!' voices from the announcer on the modern versions make up for it. Hope all the samples make it intact for the NG version (though still not sure how the controls will fare on that platform).

That definitely shouldn't happen but it's worth noting that on the M30 the L/R buttons duplicate the Z/C button functions, so you might have been pressing L without realizing it—I've certainly done it a few times on my M30. So far I've found that the Retro-Bit Saturn controller and the Asciipad Sg-6 have been the best input options for me with this game.cave hermit wrote:Is there something I'm missing here, or does your character just automatically chuck grenades whenever he feels like it without you pressing the button? I'm playing the genesis version, and I thought that maybe my M30 was acting up since I had to really shove it into the port to get it sitting flush, so I reseated it a bit more loosely, but my character is still just automatically tossing grenades.

Maybe you accidentally set the turbo function (which is done/undone by holding a button and pressing the star button)?cave hermit wrote:I just tried playing with the M30 making absolutely sure I haven't been pressing L, and my character still just chucks grenades at random.
Really sucks, this is the only game I'm having problems with on the M30, and it's too much trouble to constantly swap out controls just for one game, so I'm just going to use the kinda sucky hyperkin controller.
What platform? I play the megadrive rom on an android emulator using an M30 bluetooth controller and i have no issues with it.cave hermit wrote:I just tried playing with the M30 making absolutely sure I haven't been pressing L, and my character still just chucks grenades at random.

I have been using the M30 and krikzz Joyzz with the game on the Mega sg and HDG Genesis and didn't have any issues.Sumez wrote:Hmm maybe the game doesn't work well with unoriginal controllers? 6-button pads are kind of awkwardly implemented on MegaDrive, as it's not really built for more than 8 buttons in total.
That's correct. I think the lack of mapping options on the Switch is lame too, hopefully they'll patch that in at some point. Not sure what the plans are for the Neo version but I'm hoping they'll figure out some way to make the 6-button layout work on that platform as well.Kiken wrote:So the 3-button MD/Genesis button layout is Shoot, Grenade, Roll (no dedicated melee button), right? I wonder if they'll keep that for the Neo Geo revision or use D for melee...
They're already shipping, sounds like it may just take a while to get through the backorders. My copy shipped yesterday. Not sure what order number I was but I backed the game Mar 22, 2018.Sumez wrote:Any news on when they start shipping physical copies? They seem to have been very ambiguous about this.
