Your NESCAP looks awesome dude. Good jobRGBSource wrote:Thanks for the feedback everyone!
It appears a few users are rather upset about my palettes! If you check my blog articles I detail the steps I took to obtain the results for the NESCAP, NESCLASSIC, and HYBRID palettes. It's certainly not something only one person can do, and does not require many iterations to get the right result as I've shown. It only requires accurate capture hardware and a little bit of software know-how, which I believe I've proved. My apologies if this is that upsetting for some users.

Re: NES Classic Palette - Sifting Through the Noise
Any chance of a firmware update for the NESRGB that includes your NESCAP, HYBRID, and NES Classic palette?
I read through your blog a bit. Nice work!

Had nothing to do with your palettes, but rather the comment below:RGBSource wrote:Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Totally uncalled for. And now we can add to that a disingenuous apology.RGBSource wrote:

At any rate, my raw screen dump capture came out nearly identical. There just wasn't any way to reliably remove the noise other than averaging the color from multiple samples.
Here's the link to mine in case anyone wants to compare:

I thought the comment was about him "stealing" the palette from Nintendo.

No, it was directed at me because I'd mentioned I was going to do one when it came out on release day. He got one before release day and pre-empted my release, hence the jab. Also he was highly critical of my previous work on his own blog, and this was before I even knew about him.yxkalle wrote:I thought the comment was about him "stealing" the palette from Nintendo.

I agree that RGBSource came across a little bit like being condescending towards FBX so far.
RGBSource, be aware of how you're presenting yourself to the public! It's best for sellers/service providers to not show any negative attitude toward others : this is essential to make your business/endeavors come across as professional.

Re: NES Classic Palette - Sifting Through the Noise
I don't think it's healthy to have a pissing parade regarding who's palettes are better nor does it help the community to have only one person making them. So what if two people made the same palette? More people should feel encouraged to make their own, whether it be a palette or a mod or whatever. Better yet, work together on one. If you both have the same mission what's the harm? And like anything, helpful criticism can also make a product better. Luckily we're a small community, so the more comradery the more it helps us all.
