Incorrect: in rev.C, you can get the Psy Bits back by pressing the charge button again.

Rev.D has checkpoints.

RFP - 533,100 - 4 (Rev.D)

Died right at the final form of the Floating Continent(S4) boss. Had never been here before so there is definitely room for improvement.

Massive-months-in-the-making-table-update complete! Sorry about that, folks; it seems I somehow switched off email notifications (I don't recall doing this at all).

Revision D

Code: Select all

RFP 649,900 5
Died like a moron on the stage 2 boss, died twice like moron on the stage 3 boss and had smooth sailing through stage 4+boss and 1/2 stage 5. I'd love to enter stage 5 with more than 0 lives.

Edit:

Revision D

Code: Select all

RFP 698,000 5
Still couldn't get to stage 5 with more than 1 life, however, entered 5 with 631,000 thanks to extra points from re-doing checkpoints. Got owned in the last part of the stage too. I'll need to continue the fight.

Bloodreign- 444,100- stage 4 MAME

This game is good for a reason, not your typical R-Type hit the wall and die over and over syndrome. Japan version if there's any differences, this should've gotten a port as it's that good.

Recorded the run, but I think I'd want a higher score before releasing one.

Low on the table but it's a starter score. I think I might be able to crack this one eventually, I can get to stage 5 without losing a life but it all goes horribly wrong from there.

Taking a small break from Gradius III. OK game, but I think R-Type II is better.

After a long break from shmups, I reccently started to play this one again. I really appreciate the creative level design and boss attack patterns here. It's a lot of fun to play. Still having problems with the stage 4 boss though.

Ggetting closer to the 1cc. How does the big bonus at the game end work? Does it depend on my life stock?

This game is too easy with autofire, so I plan on giving this one a try.

I don't think Autofire makes much of a difference in this game, to be honest.

This game has six stages. There is no loop.

The Japan version features checkpoints. Also in that version, Psy Bits will automatically return to you.

Is there a specific safe spot for stage 3 boss? I couldn't get past him.

No, you gotta dodge that shit. Stay in the middle of the screen and shoot the core, then when he unleashes the yellow homing snake thing move down and do a counterclockwise circular movement back up again. This way you'll be guiding the yellow homing snake thing to move around your ship. Meanwhile you gotta watch out you're not hit by the bullets from above, but if you have your bits next to your ship they can protect you.
