I hope you're right Chris, SDOJ is the only one I really want, although I'd pony up cash for Akai Katana too as long as Shin is included.x91 wrote:I suspect what you want will come right after this...Bananamatic wrote:i want sdoj...

Wow, excuse me? I damn well can because I wouldn't be. This may come as a shock to you, but some video game enthusiasts actually have dignity and self-control as consumers. You can reclaim them too if you really want to. You don't have to pre-order, you don't have to put up with DLC, you don't have to buy games that are obviously bad, and you don't have to buy games with DRM. It is entirely possible to stand up to anti-consumer practices if you just find the courage to say no for once. The industry isn't going to collapse if you show some solidarity; it'll become better.Strikers1945guy wrote:We all understand your position, but as the resident milestone lover behind Kai, you can't tell me if a Milestone collection came out on steam with all their games included, near perfect ports, fully customizable controls, customizable soundtracks, bonuses, practice modes, etc you wouldn't be the first in line to buy it.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Edit - never mind, have fun MathU.
Back on topic, I wasn't keeping up to date with the deathsmiles release but it's nice to see they did actually mention that Mega black label will be coming out yes? Maybe I will get this after all.

Re: Deathsmiles on Steam: What do you want?
-Here are some things that were in the iOS that can be great to add:
1. option to show enemy life bars
2. skip all cut scenes
3. You are able to choose lvl 1-3 during the extra stages. Can be nice to have in an arrange mode or the HD (xbox360) mode.
4. In the iPhone mode you can purchase DLC such as Kosame's Hamaya arrows from Guwange, Ketsui's lock shot, ect. Cool to have in the game and changes things up a bit.
-A completely different arrange mode with unique scoring and mechanics. (Ver1.1 is like an afterthought of the original game.)
-It maybe neat to have "Deathsmiles: DIE Cave Festival Special Version," but from what I read it's a work in progress for MBL, so maybe useless.
-Scanlines and blur options (for pixelated arcade mode).
-disable unlimited continues, earn it through repeated gameplay (or hide it on in the option menu)
-Score breakdown and input displays, and other optional displays like you would see in other Cave ports.
-And as it have been said many times before, fix the slowdown in MBL and port over the Iphone mode.

Just get it out, and then get onto doj and then the rest... cynicism aside I really love they're presumably finding an audience on steam.

I want there to be a secret Konami code that makes all the girls fat. And if they get lifeup cakes at full health they well, explode and lose health.

This. Would gladly pay for that as DLC, even at a somewhat inflated price point in case the voice license happens to be expensive.Van_Artic wrote:the first print 360 copies had a dlc voucher for full voice acted cutscenes

Otherwise just get the slowdown as close as possible to the arcade version and I'll be happy.

@Van_Artic/HenAi
You guys do know that the Full Voice DLC is planned to be in the steam release anyways, I guess no one read my post. >.>
Though Degica (or Blackbird himself) has yet to announce prices on DLC.

Re: Deathsmiles on Steam: What do you want?
It needs to be fully playable with 2 players using keyboard controls.
I'll want to put this game in my arcade cabinet, and if it's some pile of shit where the controls aren't fully rebindable, I definitely won't buy it, because MAME would be better at that point.
It needs something extra to make it standout. Why don't they add a 16:9 mode where you can see more of the level/have more room on bosses? Throw in a 21:9 mode with an even wider field of view for good measure (although that won't translate that well to the fire stage with vertical scrolling probably).
Add a black frame insertion mode for 120hz+ monitors so that they can play without motion blur.
Use one of the free, open source shaders (Timothy Lottes or CRT Royale) to make the low resolution mode actually look good.
Just fucking support PC hardware properly for once and try to at least be as good as MAME if you're going to charge money for something (geezus).

No slowdown issues so I can enjoy my MBL.
