@GP Wow, you've been to the Labyrinth Festival? That's super awesome! Some great stuff in that video btw. Haha nice, really cool to hear that you saw him in Chicago! What a legend. His live sets never ceases to amaze me.
3 times. ;) I was a late bloomer to that. It was getting good when I went back to Japan, but had just had a kid, then marriage crumbled, then economy crumbled, and I finally bounced back and decided to enjoy life. My first year was the year with the infamous typhoon... the one that went all the way up into the mountains. :?

I've seen Jeff Mills around, not DJing, a few times. I actually rode from Tokyo to Kyoto with him (as a translator/handler) in 1999. This was the 3-vinyl turntables and a drum machine days. He is amazing, no two ways about it.
That's super awesome man! Holy shit! :o

I'm still going through a lot of the stuff in this thread, some really great stuff!

I have not heard this live set before! Many thanks for posting, this sounds like another killer set so far! Time to pour up a large cup of coffee and sit back and enjoy 8)

It's a good one for sure. Probably the best Jeff Mills set I've heard.

LOL. Yes, that song he brings in after that speech is amazing.

I own the vinyl version too. The game's opening movie is the best thing ever.

Sunahara! He's not Techno though, so doesn't really fit for the thread, but that is one awesome track and artist. He's part of the new-ish group METAFIVE with a bunch of others. They claim on facebook their first original album will bout out in January.

Another fun fact:
Takkyuu means Ping Pong (obviously not his really name).

Just saying you posted really the only Techno track he's done. Love the artist to death. Also, I've chatted with the man who's created the track Kaito - Everlasting, and found he really loves the Techno version he came up with for a vinyl single. I've not heard him use the original version in a Kaito live show in years. This is another example of how Kompakt is such a great label.
Kaito - Everlasting Dub https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwM8RlBRxs8
and another track I was reminded of from watching the 30min 20 years of kompakt doc.

I'm not really down with the kids and the popular beat combos they listen to these days, but I do like Extrawelt:

Lunatic Calm, such an underappreciated band.
I Wanna Leave You Far Behind
LC001
Roll the Dice
Chinese Burn (Lunatic Remix)
Their later stuff was more triphop and ambient, too bad they only lasted for like two albums.

Also another great techno soundtrack barely anyone else has ever heard of is Fighter & Attacker, composed by Shinji Hosoe and Takayuki Aihara.
Desert Storm
Rave War
War Art

Unreal is a goldmine of great techno tracker songs
Nightvision
Shared Dig
Mechanism 8
Skyward Fire
Run

Some other stuff
Crusader: No Remorse - Dimension 2012
Uplink - Mystique Part Two
Tempest 2000 - Mind's Eye

Sintox - Within Yourself (classic Joey Beltram) Love Techno, it's still the Rave. Shame the drugs are shite since 1993. I haven't had a decent pill since and the whole dance music scene's been pretty much flogging a dead horse ever since. I never gave up raving since 1990, I had to shift to taking meth. I still quite like DJs like Dustin Zahn, Ben Sims and Nihad Tule.

Here are some random experimental and overly minimal favorites:

Mike Parker - Pulse Trader https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qw8pbMTLUYA (space rituals)
Mike Parker - Drain Hum (Percussion Mix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBWykCWl09M (killer)
Stanislav Tolkachev - Building Peaks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBDCpAGHjH4 (Ukranian producer, one of his best tracks IMO)
Len Faki - BX3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-5PqzYgBi8 (huge dancefloor killer)
Terrence Dixon - Lead By Example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Pungw7tvuc (Detroit, minimal, love it)
Population One - The Guilty Bridge https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUgGsS1BEMw (Detroit, Terrence Dixon)
Infiniti - Thought Process https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMDt92sdGJY (Detroit, Terrence Dixon and Juan Atkins, genius)
Sosak - Casket https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_vI237yir0 (machinery, industrial)
AnD - 001 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eq04Cif3wIo (when I've first heard this in the club, my jaw dropped)

And so on... :-)

Check out Hellsystem

Try a song like "Shut up and Die" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1T_mfo-8HtQ. A bit on the evil side and not something I can see dancing to or played at a rave. I used to be into stuff like Paul Oaken fold etc. These guys are Italian I believe, I guess you would classify it as euro-hardcore banger? Kinda replaces annoying "tistististis" with base or drum beats. Reminds me of Ministry with the evil comments/vocals in the songs.

I also like Delta9

Try a song like "Real Hardcore" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNal_-NKdn4

I know the OP said not hardcore, but I'm not sure what techno excludes all the things you mentioned NOT to post....

@emphatic Killer stuff! 8) I love the remixes that you did of some of the stuff from this thread, sounds absolutely fantastic! And you managed to make it all blend together so nicely.

Well, we've already established that I am a poor judge since I posted Eat Static, lol.

Came across this track and thought it was pretty cool:
dj REMO CON VS dj TAKA - GOLDEN CROSS

Also, since it's that time of the year, this one's off the Dancer in the Snowfall EP:
7th Gate - Gravitation
