They did remove TATE mode, however, making it a pretty worthless release for lots of us enthusiast types.

ooooh yeah.... Dammit, forgot about that. Then again, were ANY PSX verts localized with TATE?
On the subject of Philosoma: OKAY, I popped in my copy, and it's not as fun as it was the first time I played it. :/ I think, at the VERY LEAST, it's a shmup you SHOULD PLAY just for the story ALONE, even if the gameplay's not so hot. (ala Silpheed: The Lost Planet) Enter the 99-life code if you have to; the story is fucking TWISTED near the end, and DAMN WELL worth a playthrough to witness.

Here in Europe, almost all of them. There in US... I dunno, maybe some Namco ports on Museums and Xevious 3D/G...
Edit: no, wait. Raiden Project has vertical mode in the US too! You must mess with action replay to rotate pad's controls accordingly, though. Zach Keene showed here how to do it.
Philosoma...not the best/not the worst.
I bought it back when it was a launch title, I still like it.
Its cool to play through every once in a great while.
Pacraps may hate it, but thats ok...we're different. As he also hates Neo-Geo shooters. Well, no difference there either, I actually like Neo shooters.
