The official cable has 75 ohm resistors in parallel with the 75 ohm resistors of the display to match the 37.5 ohm impedance on the PAL 1CHIP SNES.Unseen wrote:Some time ago I was looking into exactly that issue and found that the PAL 1-Chip SNES seems to use 37.5 Ohm resistors on its RGB lines (the nominal impedance is 75 Ohm), resulting in slightly too high signal levels if you connect them directly. Although instead of 37.5 ohm, Nintendo seem to have just used 39 ohm resistors in the PAL 1CHIP. Not sure if the 1.5 ohm difference would matter or not, I mean how exact does impedance matching have to be?
