Hah, its funny that you automatically think XDR is bad just because I think its first stage is bad.

I rate it 4/10 which is perfectly fine.

We shoot first and discuss later here in the XDR Opinion Squad (・`ω´・)

Now... BAYPA TRAIW?! No way bro - short, sniper tanky and Popeye The Sailor Man is on announcer duties. We need several minutes of ain't nothin to do while crates and random space junk waft by, and the walls go all crazy because "LOOK AT MUH PROGRAMMINZ ROFL."

For a challenge like this, we need... MUSHA

Also: I ate all the tacos and sold the CDR to some chumpz on Neo Geo.com as a supr seckret unreeleased proto, I'm rich now and won't be hanging around with you lot anymore! Keep the change ya filthy animals

Ok then Mr Bil.

I challenge you to describe, only with words, no images...What you believe would be the worst stage 1 to ever be made.

My idea is that you fly over some dull scenery for at least 8 minutes and every 30 seconds, either a few popcorn drones or tons of enemies with nigh-infinite health appear. At the end of the level, after a warning, you face slightly more popcorn and thats that.

That probably is the worst first stage ever! But a lot actually depends on the rest of the game. The true horror of R-Type III's first stage, beyond all the empty time and space, is that it's actually worth sitting through.

Gradius V out of the bunch. R-Type Final's levels are kind of boring honestly but the content gives it an odd replay value. Thunderforce VI was pretty bullshit imo. Ok if it's somebody's first shmup but for those that played the series it's pretty underwhelming.

I love the ideas and style of Gradius V but I'm honestly torn between that game and Gaiden. I think Gaiden is something I lean more towards because I see Gradius V as a rebirth of the series and goes for the more realistic approach instead of the themed planets and whatnot.

The best R-Type was definitely Delta. I can respect the others but that game was tits quite frankly.
