Either that, or Kim was a chick all along.

Nice vid, thanks FMK.

Kinda weird that Alfa would drop so many of the old characters, the roster was mostly the same between SnS and SnSII after all. Five new characters (even if some of them are just old characters with new skins) is a lot for a series that even got a game focusing almost entirely on character interaction.

Well, Kuga was always the main character of sorts...but I thought Sayo was too. Oh well, I'm sure I'll find someone to replace my precious Kim.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

That looks sooo good! :D

I think that the approach that they're taking is excellent, since it'd be difficult to keep a sequel from becoming stale while sticking with very specific, tangible trademarks (such as 1:1 returning characters). They seem to be trying a lot of new things and drawing on ideas from recent shooting game concepts, which in itself does seem like the Shikigami no Shiro tradition to me--Even moreso than the trademark characters themselves.

(Though, I think that if Kuga disappeared, I'd be like, "... it's what?" even though I don't usually play as him.)

It's interesting to see that the title character (for that presentation, at least) has a Shikigami attack to the effect of a rapid shot (which I don't think that any previous characters have had), but I'd think that she would move slightly more quickly when using her normal shot--It seems that the difference in speed between the two is not very large.

At first, I thought that the new one with the homing shot (is it?) actually had sort of an adjustable angle shot, sort of like the helicopter in Under Defeat. It'd be sort of like using Fumiko, except with being able to lock the firing direction while moving... and if that "tether" Shikigami attack had a maneuverable end point, I imagine that I'd present an interesting simple reflection on that Guwange charge attack. At this point, I'm not quite sure of how it (the actual Shikigami attack) actually works...

I also love the new coins (jewels?), since... well, partially because I tend to find it strange when sprites don't seem to blend well over 3D backgrounds and alongside polygons. The new flaming "direct-to-character" effect (for while using Shikigami attack) and especially the shimmering effect of losing them after getting hit look pretty obvious and neat, as well.

Ghegs; While I imagine that you're likely to find another character that you like, I'm pretty sure that unless something changes, you'll still be able to play as your precious Kim--Only that it will be his female successor instead of the man himself. If you ask me, it's bordering on "almost too good to handle" to have the Kim play mechanic coupled with a cool lady in a neat outfit. 8)

(Don't get me wrong; Kim de Jon is a cool dude and everything, but I love girls. Hopefully, you know what I mean.)

Additionally, I'm remembering reading that Yuki is Kuga's new guardian spirit, so in a way, the two main characters (though I tend to think of Niigi G.B. when I think of a face for the franchise) are now the main character.

All in all, the game looks like a lot of fun so far, and I'm really looking forward to playing it (because you know that I'm going to). Thanks so much, FMK!
