Work permitting, this should be my first Stunfest attendance. Looking forward to it!! I want to eat cheese, drink wine and 2-all Dodonpachi like a real frenchman.

Seriously considering a trip from Australia for this.. I need a vacation anyway and was going to visit family in London.. I guess I can get to France with the EuroStar train from there.. :)

Is there any Initial D Ver 3 scene over there by any chance?? rekless showed me a GCCX link that showed it in one of the arcades there.

Initial D : in london, yes? Rennes/Stunfest : don't remember seeing that, some (old?) racing games and that indie wipeout but not initial D (?). I always spend 90% of my time in the event on shmup things so not so aware of some things
anyway, go go plan trip!!! ;D you will not regret it

I'll most likely be attending, both for the shooting and fighting games. Never been there before, but looking forward to some shmup action.

For sure, pick up the Eurostar from San pancras station in London to Gare du nord station in paris

Then go to Montparnasse station to pick up an High speed train to Rennes (stunfest ), only a little bit more than 2 hours to get there from Paris

If u gonne stay a cup of hours or days in Paris, then u can still go to those gamecenter :

Arcade Street ( there 's a darius burst cabinet there !!! )

or

La Tête dans les nuages close to the Opera Garnier
There 's lot of Race Cabs like Outrun 2 playable with 8 players, Daytona USA ( 8 players ), Scud Race, Grid, Sega Rally 1 and 3 ...

Have a look on this link for arcade street, there 's a little video :
http://arcadeheroes.com/2013/03/25/loca ... de-street/

and this one for La Tete dans les nuages :
http://youtu.be/sVL5UGxHGKE

Have fun and see u in Rennes ;)

Hopefully someone will record some decent footage and photos from the event. If Chi is gonna film anything there on his Iphone, can someone with a steady hand take his phone off him and record.

As a Teaser, this interview of the japanese superplayer Clover TAC, Jon and Mr Pikachu ( the Wasshoi event organizer ) last year :

http://shmuplations.com/stunfest/

As you can tell, they really want to come back and make it better, they feel something happening in Europe...

Is it possible to submit interview questions? There's a few things that I would like to ask of SPS, TAC, and SOF-WTN. I think it would be interesting to see their answers.

I suggest you send those to Softdrink 117 or just post them here someone may take care of this eventually, good idea anyway!

Interesting read and watch. Would be cool to see experience gamers of different shump companies like Psikyo even we all know what a hard task it is to organize Stunfest in the first place.

I should post a little update on my situation. I still very, very much want to go, and it looks like it can still happen. However, the dates conflict with some classes I need to take next quarter to continue my degree progress, and I haven't yet gotten confirmation from my professors that I will be able to make up what I miss. If I don't get cleared for this, some of these courses will drop my grade by as much as a full letter per day. I simply can't risk that, so if I don't get cleared I will have to abandon my plans to attend.

As I said, it still seems very likely that it will happen, but this has made things significantly more complicated on my end.

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend for a number of reasons. Basically, there are academic concerns (one of my professors cleared me, but the other one is giving me an 'ehh maybe' stance which doesn't sit well with me) and some unexpected logistical and financial issues.

Sorry guys, I was really hoping to make it out.

Maybe next year. We'll see what happens. Enjoy it for me!

Would be really great to meet some of you European players!

Its a real shame you cant come Softdrink, would be fantastic to have this documented for STG Weekly. :( Anyone else willing to take up the baton?
