How often do you find yourself restarting on the first stage

I tend to start a shmup over on the first stage if I've lost a couple of lives within the first one or two levels, because I know the later stages are going to get tougher and I'm definitely gonna need those lives. If bombs/other weapons apply, I do what I can to see about preserving as many as possible before those stages later on.

You need to have a full hyper before the "end" of the oil tanks in order to access Ura route. If this means you need to not hyper before then, then so be it.

If i'm familiar with the game then a stage one death is instant restart for me, if i'm still learning it's expected and I just carry on. If i'm trying for score and I mess up a chain or something i'll usually just go with it as first stages are mostly pretty insignificant in scoring terms.
