This is the craziest whining I've heard since Joan Rivers found out her career was dead and no one cares that she used to guest host the Tonight Show.ThirdStrike wrote:This is the MOST BLATANT Form of Anal Rapage Since Marv Albert in that hotel room several years ago YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you don't want to buy an xbox360, don't buy one. If you're not buying one because of price, get ready to go nintendo next gen because Krazy Ken has already assured everyone that the PS3 is going to break the bank. That's right kids 400+ dollars is the new price point for cutting edge consoles. Of course that 400 dollar package gets you one sweet deal.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the cause of this century's videogame crash. The n00b wrote: If you don't want to buy an xbox360, don't buy one. Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.
Spec I believe you'll have to go to your room now and pout while listening to your Hillary Duff cds. That mean old Mr. Gates and Krazy Ken just hate kids you know?Specineff wrote:Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the cause of this century's videogame crash. The n00b wrote: If you don't want to buy an xbox360, don't buy one. I really don't see the problem here. If this new price point doesn't work, you just might see a resurrected Nintendo, albeit a Nintendo that shoves crapware down its fans' throats while revelling in its new found monopoly. I'm not Nintendo's biggest fan but I would rather have some new videogames than NO new videogames to play. In time, new companies will enter the arena and kick Nintendo's bloated fatass out.
Of course, I don't like having to pay out the nose for a new console but anyone with a brain could have seen it heading this way. New consoles keep pushing the boundaries and the hardware keeps getting more and more expensive. Companies can no longer afford to just swallow the cost and smile. Especially Microsoft which I hear is losing tons of money on every xbox sold.

I was going to buy an Xbox 360 at launch, but I'm very unlikely to now unless there's some killer app all my friends are playing on Live (which is unlikely since we'll all be addicted to Lockdown by that point).
Why? I don't mind the cost of the hardware, people dumb enough to want wireless controllers deserve to pay for them, but what I do mind is the new software price point. In Europe of course, the proposed prices are even more crazy - nearly $90 for some games. I think they overestimate the publics will to spend /that/ much money on a game - the 50UKP mark is a BIG mental leap from 'less than half of 100' to 'half of 100'.

I agree with this. The euros and the Australians have been screwed for too long by Japanese AND American videogame companies. It's too bad really because if Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo were to do right by their Euro fans, they would get some serious brand loyalty.bloodflowers wrote:I was going to buy an Xbox 360 at launch, but I'm very unlikely to now unless there's some killer app all my friends are playing on Live (which is unlikely since we'll all be addicted to Lockdown by that point).

Well considering that there hasn't even been ONE single shmup planned for either the US or JP PS3, I could care less. And the XBOX 360 will probably be just as, or close to, as glitchy at launch as the PS3 will be. Or do you honestly think that Sony is the only console maker to use cheap labor and parts to cut costs??The n00b wrote:I'm going to wait on the PS3. Knowing Sony the PS3 will cost an arm and a leg and be made by Chinese prison labor out of the cheapest parts avaliable. Ah that's quality kids, SONY QUALITY!howmuchkeefe wrote:I'm waiting for the PS3 as well, unless MS decides to scoop up all the developers I know and love and chain them to their console.
I know that I will ultimately own all three of the next-gen consoles, it's just a question of when.
Of course the games will probably be really cool though which will force me to buy whatever cheaply made half assed hardware that Sony decides to put out.
Nintendo will probably have the best made console but there will be virtually no games made for it except for whatever Nintendo makes.
When G4TV intereviewed Microsoft at E3 this year, the Microsoft rep said ONLY the 10 most popular XBOX games would be playable on the 360. And this new high pricing crap just makes it worse. Of course someone will say that it's too expensive for Microsoft to make ever XBOX game backwards compatible with the 360, but that's nonsense, IMO, considering how filty rich the company is. They can afford to do it, just like Nintendo could have included a Z80 in the Nintendo DS, instead of having their fans shell out for 2 different handheld consoles. Again, Sony is not the only console maker that get's cheapass about stuff.
As far as the Revolution goes, US owners will not be able to download and play Famicom, Super Famicom, or import N64 games-and there is NO good reason why Nintendo couldn't have included that. I agree with whoever said that the people who want old Nintendo games already own the old Nintendo consoles. Plus Nintendo is evidently still having a pity-party over the unlisenced NES games, among which are some great games, so you won't be able to play any of those either. I'll stick with the NEX, which is coming out this fall, and then get a modded SNES, and a J-N64.
To heck with all 3 of these new consoles; who needs any of them?? There's enough great gaming hardware out there already, especially for those of us who love shmups and classic gaming in general.
Oh, come on, N00b. Regardless of how powerful a console might be, Joe Consumer is not going to blow the whole X-mas budget on a console for little Jimmy.
While Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Mercedes and Lexus sell kickass cars at high prices, the demand for replacement parts is higher for Fords, Dodges, Toyotas, Hondas, Nissans, and especially Chevys.
In other words, how can you expect to sell lots of games for a console, when it's a bitch for Joe Consumer to get the console into his home in the first place? (No, I'm not referring to the size and weight of the original X-box.

Uh, who's Hillary Duff? I'm stuck with Hanson and everything that came before them.
