due to the glass front the usually visible differences between IPS and MVA are hardly visible. A few friends and colleagues of mine bought the 24" model. All quite happy with it. The 24" model has the same 4:3 area as a 20" BVM CRT, but while you can eliminate the underscan on the BVM, the LCD will preserve it, so after all the 24" LCD will show a smaller active picture than a 20" CRT.
I would really advise to go with the 27" model. Also the 24" does not have a VESA mount. The 27" doesn't either, but at least it has VESA holes, so you can get a tateable wall or table mount for it.

After more reading I read it's a panel lottery with the 24inch having PWM or not. The 27inch doesn't use PWM at all, another tick in the box for the 27inch.
Think I might give the 27inch a try then, thanks for the comments.

Received the monitor today, nice and early. I love it, literally no lag, so fluid and the colors look sweet!
The size was the right choice and the glossy reflective screen isn't bad at all, I was expecting worse.
Amazon sent me 3 hard drives by mistake too? Don't know what they are doing but I haven't been charged for them, will need to sort that out.
Thanks for all the replies/advice, well happy with the monitor
can't test my retro stuff on it yet though, need that line doubler.
