Ah okay. I just stuck in the first sprite-based game that came to hand. No time to test extensively today. I did also try GTA San Andreas, but I think the graphics in that game have just generally aged poorly.

At some point when I have more time I'll do a comparison with Guilty Gear XX, since it can actually do 480i or 480p.

480i deinterlacing is what has dramatically increased in quality over the years. If you desire a processor which can deliver "near 480p" results from a 480i source you need something else.

The iScan Pro's 480i deinterlacing is clean, but it's aged and certainly not the benchmark here. As the topic suggests (CGA to VGA) you might really want to try a title running in CGA. Just pop a PS1 game into your PS2.
