Ketsui is overrated.

Have I then just witnessed a chemically popped duck bill and a trouserplanked drake?

ESPRADE ia shit.

Every Gradius can burn in hell for all I care

I have a heavy weakness toward cute 'en ups

Donpachi has a great soundtrack.

Every Yagawa game is 3deep5me atm. the exception y MMP.

The amount of conservadurism and Nostalgia of some users here is incredible.

Donpachi, Gate of Thunder, and 1944 have awesome music.

I never even liked Ketsui in the 1st place.

I don't enjoy Ketsui, but It's not a bad game, just too heavy on the streaming.

To stick to the topic: I confess that... I Couldn't clear stage 1 in Gradius.
Couldn't clear stage 3 in Gradius 3 even after like 2 hours.
It took me probably well over 50 hours of GFW extra gameplay before I realized that there's a timeout phase at the end which is worth more points.
Spent around 50 hours on Guwange without ever getting a decent run.
To this day I still don't know how to dodge Murasa's third non-spell (which is static...) and I have I think around 150 hours logged on UFO.
I tend to have more fun with old, sparse shmups than I do with Cave games.
I've spent 10x more time on Touhou than I have on all other shmups combined because I think it is 10x better.

Yep

Even on the first loop it has the most perfected first / base loop difficulty ever made in any video game ever.

I'm afraid my friends will come over and see anime titties burned into my plasma and laugh at me, so I turn the wallpaper brightness down to 10% on every Cave game, in every mode.

I make sure to run XBMC's ProjectM visualization on that same screen for at least an hour after every session, just to be sure.

I really do these things.

Aside from the Ketsui thing, here are my confessions.

I don't really care much for G.rev's games outside of the Senko no Rondes.
Guwange is by far the worst Cave game I've played.
In my eyes, Deathsmiles and Deathsmiles 2 are Cave's best games.
I think the original Otomedius is one of Konami's best shooters.
I find that playing mostly for survival is boring and shallow.
I think Trouble Witches Neo is the best non-Cave shooter.
I think Raiden Fighters Jet is the best Raiden game by a long shot, and it would have been even better without dumb stuff hidden in the stages like the fairy and the miculs which hurt the game's pacing.
I care far more about Touhou porn than the games themselves.
That said, the Touhous have features that I wish other shooters would copy, like the semi-auto bomb and the item get border.
I think milking, looping, and point-blanking are terrible game design choices that should have been abolished long ago.
I absolutely hate horizontal shooters with invincible/1-hit-kill environmental hazards.
I almost always restart if I mess something up in the first stage, and sometimes stage 2 also.

-I think that Dodonpachi daifukkatsu is the most imbalanced CAVE shmup in terms of scoring, difficulty, risk=reward and shape of the anime character faces
-What aspects of gameplay trap15 likes & dislikes is a big mystery which i'm going to solve once I have enough spare time
-I like some songs from touhou and sometimes listen to arranges of them
-I'm too embarassed to search for my posts and see what kind of a retard I was a year ago
-Dodonpachi Saidaioujou is not as orgasmic as I expected, still easily the best game by CAVE

I think the shmup industry is fucked.
I think Hosoe is the best shmup composer ever.
I seriously thing that Ketsui should be adapted into a yaoi OVA.
I talk shit about 2hu but I know the name of every single song from the series.
I almost cry when Milestone's president was arrested.
I almost had an orgasm the first time I played the CV1000 emulation.
"Sometimes" Pinksweets is overrated.
I feel special for playing and liking shmups.

A couple more...

Metal black is an ugly looking game.
I've only fairly recently learned how to play most of the games I own.
Akai katana is probably my favourite cave game.
Yesterday,I 1cc thunder force 3.
Border down is still a bit rubbish.
My progear board is probably a boot.
I really like radirgy.best version is on the wii.
I still have too many games I've never played.
I collect joysticks but I can't play with them for toffee.
Eschatos is generic and dull as hell.

I really think that if we woke up tomorrow and all the stupid scoring/chaining/combo systems, and all the big-titted squeaky-voiced anime girls simply vanished from every game, most of you would eventually forget to come back to the forum.

decrypting, figuring out and emulating the new 'for use in Germany' clone of Guardian Storm dumped by System11 was the highlight of my day...
