just a suggestion. i'd try putting a wood clamp on the box longways, running parallel to the glued edge. tighten it up a bit so that if the glue softens it will flex the case a bit. now take a torch and sweep the flame back and forth across the glued seam. this will cause the glue to soften, but you want to make sure you sweep the torch fast enough that you don't melt or blacken the acrylic. once the glue softens enough the pressure of the clamp should flex the two pieces apart. let the glue dry, remove the clamp, repeat the process on the next edge.

sounds like an idea, but I'm not sure if acryl adhesive really softens with heat.
