What is the best Cave game, personal opinion
Ibara will be fighting a losing battle, because:ResOGlas wrote:Where's all the Battle Garegga fans out there? Ibara needs at least one vote!
- It's only been out a few months
- The PCB is very expensive, more than what some are willing to spend on it
- Only a few on the forum own it, while another few have access to it via an arcade or a friend
- It's not bullet-hell Cave style, so it puts off quite a few already
- It's hasn't been emulated or ported to a console yet, while the rest of the back catalogue has in some form or other

I'm a Garrega fan, but haven't play Ibara, so I can't vote it.ResOGlas wrote:Where's all the Battle Garegga fans out there? Ibara needs at least one vote!
I think it's a good point that Ibara won't get much vote simply because few people have actually played them.
This causes to me a sensation of badness. - Stormwatch

I voted for Espgaluda. I love the scoring system, music, bullets patterns and bosses. A VERY close second would be Guwange, but for me Espgaluda just pipped it.
I haven't spent enough time on Ibara yet, but if you ask me the same question in 6 months I have a feeling Ibara might be #1

DoDonPachi just seems to call me back more often than any other.
It could be nostalgia for the game that converted me (as bulletmagnet said), but I don't care, I love it and it just keeps getting better.
And it always leaves you feeling like you could do better (not with another game, a better score

I went for ESPGaluda. While I've been a fair-weatherd shooting fan for years, this is the one that got me wanting to perfect one game. It's a very close call though. Guwange is in second. It seems to be the most original of their games. Old Japanese setting, the shikigami thing, and I have a thing about women in kimonos. These are also the only two where I think the soundtracks are good. The rest range from mediocre game music, to flat out crap (Mushi).

Well I also voted for DonPachi, so you can know it's getting some votes.drohne wrote:donpachi remains my favorite. it's subdued compared to their other games, but i keep coming back to it for some reason. i'm sure most of the votes it's receiving in this poll are meant for its sequel, though. :/

In fact probably would've been best to drop Ibara from the selection and make DP and DDP separate options, as many of us have not yet played Ibara (too late now to change poll though)

DoDonPachi, because its one of the first manics that i played and aswell as being a sucker for nostalgia,i think its pretty flawless. ESP.Ra.De and Progear would have been my next too choices, though save for Ketsui, Mushi and Ibara(which i havent played), i like all the games on the list.
