That yell always felt like something that was left in by chance or mistake, doesn't really bother me though.

I think it's a callback to Zelos Force's death scream in Salamander.

He sounds oddly human for something that isn't remotely humanoid.

Mushihimesama stage 5 the stage is totally manic with stunning music

I love that sound so much. It feels really satisfying to pop those things just to hear it.


And whoever said R-Type III's first stage gets a medal... even though it's a boring as hell stage, even for a first one. It's still damn impressive.

Tatsujin stage 3 is great, it's almost like a bonus stage where you drop as many bombs as you feel like.

Thunder Dragon 2, stage 3. Something about that stage... The aesthetic, the enemy placement, the music... it just fits together really well.
