While I may not seem like a person of particular significance to you, I would still like to say that it's good to have you back Skykid. For the most part, I'm still a new blood around this forum and a very young one at that. For that reason, I usually lurk around OT reading through some of the various informative threads, swallowing in the different points to consider and also getting myself to think about what my opinion on the topic is without ever posting since I believe that I'm not well-informed enough to make a contributive post.

When I first arrived on this forum a year back, I actually was quite intimidated by your inflammatory posts and how much of a witty punch they packed but I soon grew to learn that it was just the way you were. Your harsh responses shouldn't be taken as a serious personal attack (which I find that some people may see it that way) but it is usually is well-deserved I find; if there is a post from you that was constructed purely for the sake of being an asshole, I have yet to find one.

I'd also like to say that I gained a large respect for you when I read your reviews under the Reviews section a few months after joining the forum. At the time, I was taking a class in my high school that was to help me hone my writing skills in various different forms (news articles, story writing, reviews, creative writing, etc.). Your reviews were very inspiring to me. They were very well-informed not just on the game but also on the company. The structure flowed very nicely and the descriptions you provided with a blend of literary techniques just blew me away. It was clear that it wasn't just another typical review plainly stating their biased opinion on a game - there was a lot of thought put into yours making it a very interesting read, to say the least.

I'm not even sure if I'm making any sense at this point, I'm a tad sleep-deprived at the moment. I guess I just wanted in on the bro love. :P

You might be young, but you're sharp. Glad you can see through the facade. I try to entertain everyone I'm not directly insulting.

Ah, I have a little head start on that (professional games journalism for several years thanks to a member here), but those reviews are a bit embarrassing looking back now. I actually did a quick clean and re-edit recently, esp. on Guwange and Steel Empire which were messy. The Progear's still crap. (Actually they're all a bit poor except Gradius V imo.)

Awright...

Skykid: I love you
r avatar. Seriously, your Bruce Lee avatar has influenced my perception of "you" ever since I'm on these boards. And with "you", I mean your "skykid" personality, as I don't know you in person. Shit, I should stop posting after having a few cold ones...

Btw, you were right, I had to correct my signature for bad grammer. Btw, did you know that this is my first sig ever since being here on the shmupsfarm?

From the thread title I expected this to be a farewell thread, and instead it's just everybody taking turns gargling Skykid's balls.

Glad you aren't leaving, but hopefully something was learned in all of this.

Also, let's leave Siren to start his own forum. No need for that kind of foolish nonsense here. Dude obviously wanted to be banned, so he could follow in the footsteps of his idol, icy. If you let him back, he's just going to be back at it again. Dude's dropping N-bombs just to get a rise out of people, and that's just above and beyond his usual garbage. Do the mods really want to have that kind of shit here? I certainly don't.

Just my 2 cents, not that they will buy you much.

We haven't decided what to do about the Siren situation yet. I liked reading some of his posts, but at the end of the day he's like a kid looking up at Icycalm with stars in his eyes and joy in his heart. Even if he's aware of the line he'll just cross it again.

srsly? k.

He's an elitist, philosophy-loving snob, who liked to insult people. Imagine if that part of your consciousness that makes you want to be better than other people, were as large as the average person's sex drive; ie, the driving force behind all of your actions.

He runs some "insomnia" blog thing about video games, and he one time stole review content from EOJ I believe.

View his posts for nostalgia.

A typical hate thread about him.

We're also not allowed to talk about him too much without a lock. Not that it's harmful in small amounts, but it's like the problem with j.pr0n: if we're allowed to talk about it, it's all we'll ever talk about.

Basically, we get really bored around here.

EDIT

To Skykid glad you didn't get perma banned as you are part of some good discussions that I like to read but never feel the need to add anything myself. I'm also thankful for sticking up for me when I went off the rails with that stupid immigration rant.

Anyway that's enough man love for me, i'm off to find a packet of mints to freshen my breath :)
