This thread made me realise I'm bound to be in the minority, but...bring back Friendly! As far as I can make out, he tried on numerous occasions to get the mods to step in and do something about his cyber-stalker. Would be nice to have an extended break from Skykid's childish sniping. I admit I'm no real contributor to these boards (just another lurking cynic), but for fucks sake, in what sense does continually telling people their opinion is wrong and taste is poor qualify as useful contribution? It's designed for one thing: whipping up drama in order to direct attention towards oneself. I think the term is trolling. In that regard, no different from Siren-calm.

Like I said, I'm in the minority, so I'll just go back to sleep now...

I wouldn't have a problem if he dumped all of the news he reads on GAF, not limiting it just Sony news.

Pretty sure this was temporary, but I don't think Skykid should be banned if the case is otherwise. Friendly isn't my favorite person on here, but I really doubt he needs to be banned as well. Siren has done nothing but cause problems. This isn't even the first racist thing he's blatantly typed.

I think Skykid has tried to be a constructive member here. He didn't start the ad hominem attacks this time around. There's a night-and-day difference between criticizing an object and criticizing a person (just because you disagree with his views on an object).

When handling bullying situations, I'm not a fan of punishing the person who struck back. That topic should've been closed or warned as soon as the name-calling started although I'm not out to criticize the mods either since I appreciate their optimistic spirits and respect for the wait-and-see precedent set.

I feel that the problem is more behavior-based in terms of a minority of newer members here. I miss the overwhelmingly collegial Shmups forum of a decade past, although it's certainly not impossible to attain again if everyone strove to think positively during discussions (e.g. by not gunning to lambast each other when we don't agree with differing views).

Personally I don't have a problem with Friendly either. Despite being bashed at every opportunity by Skykid, he was always polite and tried to avoid conflict as much as he could (by ignoring him and asking the mods to deal with the situation).

He just needs to understand people here don't really care about Sony news. His posts would be more appreciated over at NeoGAF.

They should change the "Banned User" title to "In a Time Out". Honestly, there WAY worse threads on this board, and they didn't result in much. But, maybe that's why I'm not a mod.

Simple port begging to your favorite Console on NeoGAF already results in a perm ban, console fanboys like him have a very short lifespan there .

I seriously disagree with Skykid most of the times and often am offended by his tastes and oppinions, but I like him and he's
a defining member of the forum no less.

Can't for the love of bob see what Friendly did to deserve his ban either. He's mostly very cortious and informative (and so what if he's obviously Sony orientated? As long as you realise that, you can read through it can't you!?

Siren obviously overstepped the boundries with his (somewhat) racist sounding remarks. Serious warning first and tempaban imho with permaban as soon as repeat offense.
