Yeah, I'm pretty sure Instant Brain bombed pretty bad. I think the lack of a PC version killed it. In better news VNs are usually pretty cheap to make so I doubt it was a big loss.

Next to puzzle games, visual novels are probably the cheapest genre to develop, though. Often, very little actual programming is involved. Instant Brain can't have been a catastrophic loss.

Could have sworn I read on CAVE-STG somewhere something about Instant Brain 2. Don't quote me but I think if it was a failure they wouldn't be considering making a sequal.

Their working on another visual novel afaik. Might not be instant brain 2 though.

I don't understand why everyone's so excited about this. Don't most Cave fans already have physical copies of these games?

Whatever happened to Dangun Feveron on XBLA?

This is absolutely exciting news, if it actually happens. 360 GoD would be amazing, Steam would be even better. All my favorite shmups in one place, alongside MAME! =]

Does anyone know how much the GoD release of Deathsmiles IIX increased the sales?

I've had CAVE following me on Twitter. I asked about the rumours of the Steam release and got a cryptic, engrishy, "Please expect :)".

Did 2012 just get way, WAY too close for comfort? :P

Yay if it's true, heh.

I have a Japanese 360, so maybe I'm not keeping track correctly, but I thought the only ones that can't be played on a North American 360 are Ketsui and DOJ, which probably can't be republished by Cave. All the others are either region free, already on GoD, or are published region free via RSG.

As a non-cab owner, I'd love to see Dangun, Progear, and especially ESP Ra.De get a perfect port.

It'd be nice for those of us that missed out when the games first released and can't afford the price-tag of importing the games now. Also, English menus.

Stating this for the millionth time: Feveron XBLA was canceled (even though it was playable at a Cave Matsuri), but they left the door open for a smartphone port.

Cave blog post from a few months ago. It would be a pain to track it down, but trust me, I'm not making it up.

They didn't outright say "Feveron XBLA is canceled," but it was clear they were only going to release it on phones, if at all.

No offense intended Estebang, it's just that it's been a few times where you've made one-liners like that seemingly out of nowhere recently.

On the bright side, if it was in Cave's blog it makes it a bit easier to track down for people to figure out for themselves instead of the *ignore* treatment or the "oh you know I heard from a friend of a friend of a friend on this broken-looking webpage translated from obscure language x through Babelfish into what I heard in this half-encrypted message that I got from six months ago". :P

It actually does look like you are "making it up", since you failed to respond to me when questioned about this in another thread.

I went through Asada's blog and he hasn't mentioned Feveron since January 2011 (at this point I gave up and closed the window). He even announced it himself in August of 2010 here.

So I have to ask, what are you talking about?

Hnnnng, I distinctly remember a Cave blog post linked on these forums where they discussed that there were no further plans for Feveron XBLA, but it might have been someone just making conjectures, since I can't read much of the posts myself. I'm not infallible, guys.

Anyway, it seems pretty obvious that it's not coming out: with it having been at a Cave Matsuri, we really should have heard more of it by now.

It looks like the first two GoD releases will be Deathsmiles and Mushi Futari, with at least one more in the pipeline.

Most likely espgaluda 2, it was the next 360 port wasn't it?

Here's hoping they're at the very least respective to their disc-based region locking (in the case of Futari, region-free).

Interested in that Mushihimesama HD for 360 too. Those who wished the PS2 port was better can finally have peace.

Deathsmiles now available in GoD on the JPN marketplace for 1,760 microsoft points.

I can confirm that there is *NO* IP-Lock as I was able to purchase the GoD version through the xbox.com website. :D

Interesting. It's also available on the HK store here. I'm downloading it to my Japanese 360 right now.

I guess this pretty much confirms Futari won't be IP locked either. Guess I'll buy some more Asian points.

It's cheaper on the HK store - only 1680 MSP.

Quick question for anyone who'd know, as I want to update the Deathsmiles article on HG101 -

1) To confirm, at the moment Deathsmiles is only available on the JP/Asia GOD Marketplace, and thus requires JP points to purchase, but will play on whatever console it's downloaded to?

2) I assume that the game is the same as the original release, and does not include MBL as the Platinum edition did - is this correct?

You need Asian points if you want to buy it off the Asian store. And yes, it will only work on the console that you download it onto, unless you do the license transfer.

Not sure about 2 as I already had MBL installed before I downloaded the GoD release. If the Platinum release didn't have MBL on the disc then I doubt the GoD release has it.

Well, that's the thing - the Platinum edition DID have MBL on it (not MBL 1.1 though), so I'm wondering if this follows in its footsteps or only has the "basic" stuff (Arcade/360/1.1) that the first print did.

Ah, right. Well, the GoD release has the Platinum artwork on the dash so it probably is included.

OK, I just deleted my MBL file and it's still letting me select MBL from the game, so it is indeed in this release.
