Yeah, it's talking about the Akai Katana Home Version, which is an entirely different situation, imo.

Also worth noting that Asada has confirmed there's more arcade ports coming.

Yep, and there's really not a whole lot left to release. I think Mushi + 1.5 is their safest bet for sales, considering the strength of the brand.

They'll be region-locked

They've confirmed that Feveron isn't coming to consoles, but would an XBLA Esprade be out of the picture? Seeing as how it also has never received any kind of home release, and Galuda is probably their second-strongest brand.

I don't mind them creating an English name for the game. It's quite common.

Shikigami no Shiro = Castle Shikigami
Mononoke-hime = Princess Mononoke
DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu = DoDonPachi Resurrection

However, Bug Princess sounds bad, and I think they can do better. Following the above trend of using one English word and one Japanese word, I suggested Princess Mushi on FB. Not necessarily a good choice either, but they need to give this more thought.

I agree that the verts play better on a phone. Hand is always in the way playing Deathsmiles.

I expect this will have a smartphone mode that doesn't require rhythmic button tapping to score well.

Look forward to seeing this. I hate trailers that don't show any footage. Since they are renaming the game and probably remastering the artwork, I don't think it's too crazy to assume this is slated for a console port in 2012, possibly with the Matsuri version.

English clearly wasn't the first language of whoever decided on "Bug Princess." They simply made a literal translation of the title without any idea of how it would sound to Westerners. All it brings to mind is kiddie picture book stuff.

As far as I know Atlus holds the copyright and is unwilling to give CAVE permission to rerelease Ra.De, since it's techincally their IP.
A pity, too - I would love to see what sort of Arrange mode they'd come up with.

And when did the rumor of a Feveron port start, anyways?

Feveron was more than a rumor - it was reported M2 was working on a Feveron port for an unspecified platform over a year ago.

Personally, I think "Insect Princess" would be a much better title.

"Insect" gives it a harder edge to counter the froofiness of "princess," plus the two words share a number of sounds.

Insect sounds too awkwardly scientific.

I'd have gone with Mushi Princess.

Did ya'll miss that "Bug Princess" is the chosen name as to not cause issues in iTunes for iPhone? Long game names don't show up correctly. Also, they already released Bug Panic, makes sense to make all the new, western fans that are clueless about Mushi and Futari to get a familiar feeling right off the bat.

I think Mushi just sounds retarded in general.

Maybe because that's what we called vaginas when I was like 6.

It was even playable at one of Cave's events. The method of input at the time was a standard 360 controller.

Meh. It's easy enough to abbreviate. MOS Speedrun becomes Speedrun, Game Dev Story becomes Game D Story, etc etc. Mushi would be alright. My main problem is that Bug Princess sounds really stupid. Call me a pedant, but only insects of the order Hemiptera should be refered to as 'bugs'. It makes it sound very naive and childish, like some cheap American cartoon. Insect Princess would be fine. Why not? I suppose it wouldn't contract so elegantly.

Wasn't Guwange technically Atlus' IP as well too? CAVE didn't have any copyright complications when they bring it over to XBLA.

For the Esprade XBLA port, though, I'd like to see the Espgaluda-ish Arrange mode because these two are related to each other. :P

There's no chance of Progear ever getting another release in any form--it's definitely all in Capcom's hands.

Capcom kinda sucks on IOS.... big fan of 'em but their IOS ports are bad..... their only decent game is street fighter 4.

I'd be really surprise if they ever re-release Pro Gear.

Bug Eater is an actual porn title - you can thank SomethingAwful for telling me that. It got a sequel called Bug Eater 2 - Cockroach Eating Girl, which is shock-site-caliber disgusting.

I "heard" on the "world wide webs" that this "Bug Eater" is actually the title of a "pornographic film."
