is there actually any scoring in this? it seems to be about killing everything as fast and as safely as possible, and that's it.

You can kill certain things with charge shot and get doublegold. It may not be deep but it's a scoring system.

Re: STGT'11 Week 3: 1944: The Loop Master
When strawberries first came to Japan at the beginning of the Meiji era they were seen as a symbol of modernisation and Westernisation. There was a popular (fictional) story about a fairly poor merchant who put all his money into strawberries and was able to make back double, and repeating this a few times went on to become super wealthy. I think it's an obscure reference to that, you see it crop up in games sometimes.Herr Schatten wrote:But why does doublegold look like strawberries?

coffeejoerx: No prob!
It's WolfMAME Plus 0.106, thrown onto Mediafire for anyone who was having problems getting it from the official site. I scanned the file for viruses before uploading so I'm not sure why you're getting a scary message. I'm not a saboteur, man.Legend wrote:My system found malware in this?!
Btw. what is it?

I get the same warning, even when I use the one from MARP, so this should be a false positive. Could be because WolfMAME records your keyboard-inputs.saucykobold wrote:It's WolfMAME Plus 0.106, thrown onto Mediafire for anyone who was having problems getting it from the official site. Re: STGT'11 Week 3: 1944: The Loop Master
You need a version of MAME that supports custom buttons. Shmupmame, Wolfmame 0.99 and 0.106, and Mame Plus are all good picks.Guardians Knight wrote:anyone help me set up autofire?
Boot up 1944 and go to Input (this game). Set P1 Button 1 to whatever you want. This'll be your auto shot. Then set P1 Custom 1 to a different button. You'll use this for the charge attack. Leave that menu and go to Custom Buttons. For P1 Custom 1, press 1 on your keyboard. Lastly, navigate to Autofire Setting. Turn P1 Button 1 on and choose a good delay rate, leave P1 Custom 1 off.
(Apologies if you've already done some of these steps; just trying to be thorough

Don't worry about it. You can travel from the Milky Way to Andromeda and back 1500 times before the sun explodes.

I'm never gonna stop finding it funny that this is a game where you play as an American fighting Japan...developed by a Japanese company.

Sweet autofire capabilities is the reason why I'm playing on Mame Plus instead of Shmoop Meim.
