Been playing a lot of the original Gradius on the Saturn lately... my last run pretty much ended when I idiotically crashed into that final asteroid in 2-1, and could never recover despite having 5 or 6 ships left over.

are me and my brother the only people in the world who didn't mind the encounter rate? i thought it was fineArrogantBastard wrote: The random encounter rate doesn't bug me as much as Skies of Arcadia did
I never minded the encounter rate in Skies of Arcadia. I didn't hear any gripes about it until i had already beaten the game, and I was a little surprised. Granted, I've played only a very few RPGs in my time, so SoA didn't have much to compare to, but I accepted the encounter rate and never griped about it. Maybe now that I've played Legends, if I played the DC version again (I'd have to buy it again, I sold it a while ago, damn me!) I would probably find the encounter rate annoying. But really, it's only once it's relative to something else, taken on its own it seemed like the most natural thing in the world.magnum opus wrote:are me and my brother the only people in the world who didn't mind the encounter rate? i thought it was fineArrogantBastard wrote: The random encounter rate doesn't bug me as much as Skies of Arcadia did
This was my first 1 lifer for an arcade (well, mame) shooter.Kiken wrote: Gradius II
I'm determined to life this Gradius too. I still need to figure out a good patern for getting past the spider walker.
Where are you at? That last castle is basically impossible if you don't have a map.jp wrote:Zelda II
that's me as well. it's a big let down thinking i just took 1st again, only to come in 4th or something. i seriously love this game though, it forces you to leach bullets... and that's always a good timePlasmaDancer wrote:Espgaluda (I feel like I'm making progress, but a post-death glance at my score soon puts an end to that)
