If seeing the whole game on your first go is what you're complaining about, I can understand. But personally I'd either hold off on the continues, or just replay the game. There's no reason to not improve, just because you know what the last stage looks like. You've not finished the game as long as you're continuing.
Rayforce also has a nice scoring system, which is ruined if you're always dying since you can't get x256 lockon chains. Even the earliest stages play totally differently when you're going for big chains. As with most shooters the lasting value isn't in seeing the last stage, it's in learning to exploit the scoring system without getting killed.
You'll need to turn the TV on its side for PS2 Rayforce as well, by the way. That's how TATE (full-screen vertical display) mode works, whatever the game or system. Keep in mind not all televisions / monitors can do this safely.
Need help identifying this game (Raystorm)

No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

It's considered pretty difficult by most here. It's not as hard as some other shooters, but definitely not easy either. The big issue is probably the harsh difficulty scaling (rank) if you manage to survive past stage 2.R-Gray 1 wrote:hi, is Rayforce a very difficult game right?
The ship's lack of a bomb doesn't help either, but like its moderate speed and mid-sized hitbox, that can be adjusted to.

for me rayforce is a really hard game, harder than Raystorm. Maybe is because the ship's moves and no bomb.BIL wrote:It's considered pretty difficult by most here. i need to play it on saturn emul or here in ps2...( i guess saturn emul)
i finished Rayforce in TMJ2 with extra credits and i didn't like that

in saturn i think i just reach area 5. another problem is not time to play many games, have to study, have to work etc...
i just tried TATE on TMJ2 some minutes ago and looks great!! and maybe is my imagination or the ship moves better??
i think i should find a special screen or special tv to play TATE games...
