Not sure why I forgot to mention the soundtrack, but you're absolutely right, it's among the best of the last generation. Both ethereal, mysterious and powerful. Really gets you going!

Goddamn, didn't remember this coming out quite so long ago. On my usual post-generational catch-up list for sure, now.

edit: good to see you post again CIT!

I've been compiling my PS360 catch up list atm, and it's actually amazing how few worthwhile titles there are. :/

Drakengard 3 is on the way though. Played the first one back when it was released and honestly can't say I remember a thing about it.

Edit: Thanks! :)

Seems "NieR Automata" is the name of the upcoming sequel.

Looks and sounds absolutely amazing. The gameplay is already a huge step up from the original.

Platinum should develop everything.

The animations seem a bit too similar to Revengeance...

is there a reason the ps3 version of this game is so much more expensive then the 360 version?

I believe there was a 360 re-isue, whereas PS3 version is the original print only.

This looks great. I haven't played the first NieR, but Platinum has me interested in this one.

Also, I will be happy to see Platinum, actually have time and a budget, to make a game. The last Transformers game, kind of depressed me.
You could tell they were trying to make a quality game, but the time and budget, just wasn't there. It's not bad, but BUDGET, is written all over it.

I hope this makes up for Scalebound, not being on anything I own.

My problem with it, is that it only has like three environments (seriously), and the enemy variety is quite low.

You can take a look, on YT, and see it pretty easily.

It's fun as hell though. The combat is a blast.

Transformers Devastation is a full-priced game and takes 5 hours to beat apparently. :?

Odd to hear that complaint on shmups forum.

It's not like Platinum Titles don't have scoring systems, detph, and replay value. Or that Cave games don't cost 80 dollars to import sometimes (not even counting if you need a jp 360 to play some of them).

No no no...it's not that it's short. It's the repetition of backgrounds and enemies.

It's a good game. It plays well, and is structured well.

They just didn't have enough assets to make for a more varied experience. If that's not an issue, then you'll be down with it.

I mean, I have all of Platinum's games (except for Infinite Space), and the only ones that I find to have too little enemy and area variety, are the Activision ones. It's obvious that they aren't given a lot of time or money with them.

Korra had no heart. Tranformers does. But it still didn't have the budget.

It plays very well and the replay fun factor is there. I've gone threw it 4 times or so now. My only complaint would be a lack of varied environments as well. Having said that I still love the game. It was priced at 50 and my gut just told me to expect some budget shortcuts.

It's also a big love letter to the G1 show. Fan service yes, but it works for me.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

a preview of the theme song was released on the official website

pretty good
although it has English lyrics as opposed to the made-up ones in the NieR OST, but we'll see about that

TMNT is definitely trash. Maybe it's time to only trust Kamiya, Hashimoto, and possibly Saito to direct good games at Platinum.

They could also lend out their combat designers to other developers, like they're doing with this. It looks great so far.

The reason some of their recent games have been garbage, or lacking, is because of short schedules, limited budgets, or not having control of the project.

It looks like this is up their alley, and they can delay it all they want, as long as it comes out good. I'm tired of rushed Platinum products. Such a waste of talent.
