I think Sony are being royal cunts about this. They don't deserve details of customers who have bought the imports- If I were a dealer I'd flat out refuse the info.
If Sony doesn't like people importing their systems, then they need to get them out in all territories ASAP and not dick around.
Personally, I invite the US companies to take their Tony Hawk, Backyard Wrestling, Grand Theft Auto, Def Jam, WWE games, Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, Narc (the new version), John Madden, Tiger Tiger Woods Y'all, and Tom Clancy licensed games (I'd rather read the books or watch the movies) etc. and shove them where the sun don't shine. EA's licensed sports titles I can't care less about.
Regions stink, and I think they're to blame for some of the piracy. I hope the PSP stays completely region free for games- and that there's eventually some sort of BIOS hack that would fool the forced firmware upgrade system into thinking you have version 9.99 or something so the upgrade required screen doesn't rear its skank head.
Sony decided to screw the UK again over PSP imports.

Believe it or not Sony are having trouble getting the patent for "PSP" in the UK (or maybe the whole of Europe). Here is who owns the name PSP :
Apparently Europe want PS3 by Easter 2006. I don't know if this is because of the PSP delay or because XB360 will launch pre Xmas.
PSP will be out sometime in 2010 then
Owtanet Limited

They have it registered till 2010.
Sony are trying to trademark PSP for "portable gaming" and have been trying since 08/02. It is still at the "examing" stage with the patent office.

This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
