Zatsuza is a thing of legend.

Basically it's the name of the secret track on the DFK BL OST and it's a very aggressive remix of ]-[|/34<#!. Zatsua is also Hibachi rotated back 8 letters.

If the requirements are no missing the entire game including Hibachi...is that even humanly possible?
I've seen a godly Taisabachi fight, the first 3 attacks can be safespotted...but isn't the final a nearly impossible life drain in BL?

On one side it seems unlikely from cave to make a BL without a new TLB, on the other 8 months of the game being released without any proof of it existing...yeah.

Again, I wish I could import.

So is this going to cone out right around the same time as the iPhone port? Does the iPhobe port even have a date? I'd think a lot less people would be interested in a phone port when they could have an arcade-perfect console port at the same time.

I'm not a huge fan of the Donpachi series, but then again I wasn't fan of Mushi Sama and now I love Futari.

Is there anything to the gameplay that changes it up a bit and makes it more fun?

Yeah.... it's way more relaxed and not as anal as far as the chaining goes. That and if you play power mode there is more to mess around with as far as the mechanics go. You switch between 2 weapon sets, One is more wide spread and boosts your hyper meter quicker and the other is narrower and does less damage. This carries over to your hyper also.... in scoring you can narrow your hyper's shot and the hyper eats bullets, having a narrower hyper shot makes it so you can actually NOT kill enemies easier. This helps with scoring by, while in a hyper the enemies shoot way more crap at you... more bullets for the hyper to eat, keep more enemies around longer by not killing them.... even more bullets... equals a way bigger hit/chain count.

Each bullet ate by your hyper adds to you hit count, this can make a huge difference in your total chain. The chaining is still present but way more relaxed, that's not to say if you lose it your score won't feel it. But most of the dropping comes into play in particular parts in a stage.... a spot you'll have to figure out here or there. I don't know the game like the back of my hand but I don't have to memorized the whole thing pixel by pixel, just those tricky spots here or there and figuring out the best places to use a hyper.

I'm no master at it but it's fun to me and I was no fan of the older DP game's chaining. There is more to it but that is a quick and dirty run down... enough to kinda show it is different but still DDP is in there. I would say if you didn't dig the earlier games there is still a good chance you enjoy this one. You still have other elements like canceling a laser with your laser (especially in the 4th and 5th stage) and bullet cancelling similar to Mushi with certain enemies here and there.

EOJ wrote a review and I agree with what he mentions in it.... as you play it more you can feel ideas pooled from their other games. Some stronger or more obvious but they are there.

Futari
DDP DFK
Galuda 2
MMP
DeathSmiles

Those are probably my favorite cave titles as of right now, so you can take that as a reference as to what grabs me ect....
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Eww! So that means if I'm in Power Style, I can't switch shot modes without blowing a Hyper first?

Is a novice mode really needed in Dai Fukkatsu?

No... it's called not going for a 2 loop run using strong mode.

I think so - I've lent my copies of Futari and ESP II to my workmates who are by no means dedicated shmup players, and the novice orientated modes have gone down a storm. The deliver a good introductory sence of the thrill of a tough shmup to those tentaively interested in the genre.

What we think of as less difficult shmups are still pretty daunting to lots of people. I can only see democratising shmups through offering a range of difficulties as a good thing; hell – it might even mean we see more Cave games released outside of Japan. I know Cave are definately watching the Western responces to the 360 releases.

Anyway, I'm very excited by the news of this release. I'm off to order LE now!

EDIT: And thanks for another fantastic thread Elixir. You know how to OP! That's for sure!

I still think it needs a novice mode for the USA audience. Sure, experienced shooter players should be able to work on Strong loop 2 with minimal playtime. But true novices that are new to the genre will still find the first Strong loop to be a challenge even with a good bit of practice.

It doesn't really matter to me if they add a novice mode.... it's free and a bonus and something to mess with here and there.

I'm quite cool with novice modes. I used novice Maniac on Futari to teach myself the scoring system. Once i had it down i moved to the normal version.

I'm surprised at this board's acceptance of novice modes, considering the attitude of the fanbase of that-which-shall-not-be-named towards "easy moodo".

The only thing you need to know is that it's you against an army and failure is NOT an option.

Now grow some hair on your chest and drink some Jack.

Seems strange that Amazon Japan doesn't have this up for preorder yet. It seems like the other cave games were way ahead of their release. Does any place other than Play-Asia have it up yet?

It's because playasia takes orders for things that don't have official preorders yet.

Keep checking NCSX, they only open preorders when official distro orders go out in Japan. It's one reason I don't preorder things from playasia.

Otomedius X is the same deal, anyone taking preorders for it (US or JPN version) know that it doesn't even have a date yet.
