Darius Burst Another Chronicle (Arcade)
Re: Darius Burst Another Chronicle (Arcade)
This is bloody exciting, but I'm sure I'll never see a multiscreen version running here in the UK...
Re: Darius Burst Another Chronicle (Arcade)
I want a 360 conversion with Multiscreen support !!!
Everbody probably remembers the 3-screen mode in Forza on the 360. They could do this in the same manner. Two 360s, connected via LAN, single game. Would be exiting !!

That would be really awesome. Add to that a lot of graphic options and we could have a lot of funFudoh wrote:I want a 360 conversion with Multiscreen support !!!

Just about 17 hours left right now. 10AM tomorrow, EDT.
I second the thing about Forza. Taito could do a 2 screen/2 system mode- with 2 controllers connected to each 360.
A one screen mode would probably have the crap letterboxed out of it to cut the vertical screen area in half (1280 x 360 playfield as opposed to 2560 x 720 arcade setup), unless Taito is also doing a Standard (one-screen) version for smaller arcades. I wouldn't want to see Art of Fighting type zooming in a home port.

Kinect? KIN NOT.

4-player simultaneous. Can't say I'm excited about that.

If that is true probably an Xbox version may be on its way. Just thinking about the 4 online players.

Not too thrilled that they're using the same assets from a PSP game. Hopefully there's more graphic detail, and especially improved level/boss design. 32:9 looks pretty cool, admittedly.
Re: Darius Burst Another Chronicle (Arcade)
I like the look of the game and am hoping for a console port, but how, in a 4-player game on that cabinet, is the right-most player supposed to see his ship on the far left? Seems like a tough angle to see your ship and incoming shots accurately.
Yes, it's only a mock-up of the cab, but still.

No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Re: Darius Burst Another Chronicle (Arcade)
Four player mode of the upcoming "Darius Burst: Another Chronicle" cab definitely beats the three player mode with Video System's Turbo Force/Hyper Force arcade shmup PCB. I've had the opportunity to play a three-player session with two other fellow arcade gamers on Turbo Force back in the early 1990s at a local arcade -- awesome shmup experience not to be missed.
There is the madness that is four player session of Gigawing 2 on the DC platform to consider as well.
Let's not forget that Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec supports three screens using three PS2 consoles linked-up via Firewire hub (assuming if you're using three older PS2 consoles with said Firewire port built-in). Crazy setup if you were to ask me.
PC Engine Fan X! ^_~

If it means getting a machine like that in the UK, I'll seat on the right, and still beat you all.Ghegs wrote:I like the look of the game and am hoping for a console port, but how, in a 4-player game on that cabinet, is the right-most player supposed to see his ship on the far left? That last bit's a lie. I'll clearly loose wherever I sit!
Re: Darius Burst Another Chronicle (Arcade)
Well, that's nice to look at. Too bad the only arcade in my area exclusively features driving, fighting, and rhythm games.

Re: Darius Burst Another Chronicle (Arcade)
I'm not gobsmacked by the graphics. That said, hopefully the gameplay still delievers- the original Darius Burst on PSP is not terrible at all in that area. The control panel reminds me of the SFIV TE Mad Catz stick (which is patterned after the Vewlix CP).
Hopefully this will look better in motion. Can a 32:9 Ninja Warriors II be in the works sometime?
OGR as the lead BGM composer again would be nice. Remember the first time you heard "G-Zero" in G-Darius' first zone and picked your jaw up from the floor?

Its good to follow gameoverDude on a Darius thread
The large 4 player cab takes me back to 86/87.
I wouldn't be surprised if London's Trocadero arcade ends up getting it. I'd be curious as to the general publics' response to it.
Looks good & I understand why they want a 4 player simultaneous cab, it has to take buck$ in the arcade.

Burst is pretty boring on the PSP.
I don't expect anything different here either.

While the game looks to have had less effort put into it than the cabinet, I would buy it if released on XBLA or PSN.

Definitely. This should be $10 on XBLA. I mean, you can probably beat the game in like 20 or 30 minutes.

Am I alone in thinking that the Burst iteration of the Silver Hawk is a bit ugly?

Re: Darius Burst Another Chronicle (Arcade)
I do think it looks good, unlike the chimeras... I always felt, they lacked some charisma.sunburstbasser wrote:Am I alone in thinking that the Burst iteration of the Silver Hawk is a bit ugly?
Re: Darius Burst Another Chronicle (Arcade)
I can't imagine paying $50 for a game I can beat so quickly. Sure there are a lot of different modes of play, but they're the same game over and over. [/sarcasm]pablumatic wrote:While the game looks to have had less effort put into it than the cabinet, I would buy it if released on XBLA or PSN.
In all honesty, the cabinet may seem awesome, but player 4 is going to have a serious complication, especially if their friends decide it's funny to start blocking their view.

I'm interested in seeing how it'll affect the level design and enemy placement. Four evenly-spaced ships will pretty much have the entire screen covered.

Re: Darius Burst Another Chronicle (Arcade)
Yeah, this game is kind of boring. I was let down.
The backgrounds are an endless stream of space and steel, and the actual level design ain't the greatest either.
It's just so-so.

Looks like you can flirt (or even have sex) with other players when playing
