Been playing this a lot. I'll be up for hard mode and farming hard mode rares if anyone wants to play.
Single player is fun IMO, going for speedruns and no-miss can be a lot of fun because of the amount of spells / weapons everyone has and the various high-risk equipment setups you can try out to improve your time. Also the boss attack patterns become harder on single player, at least on hard mode. Hard last boss is awesome.
Akumajo Dracula: Harmony of Dispair
Re: Akumajo Dracula: Harmony of Dispair
Switched from Shanoa to Charlotte and I'm really enjoying this game a lot more. Shanoa's really useful if you have a Charlotte with you using the astral skull combo though, I ran into someone doing this earlier, switched to Shanoa, and proceeded to lightning Dracula endlessly.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I'm not getting better gear for Charlotte. I have 26 INT, haven't found any good gear in ages, and I only seem to be healing better by absorbing stuff in singleplayer (co-op is out, everyone just kills everything). Is this really the only option for her to progress?

Grind spells in single player and get gear in coop is pretty much what you have to do with charlotte sadly. Pretty sure charlotte gets all her best stuff on hard chpt 5 & 6.
Re: Akumajo Dracula: Harmony of Dispair
I'm enjoying this but I'm not as into it as the other people in this thread. So far my main issue is I don't seem to be able to powerup my attacks very much for any character. Any advice?
Haven't renewed XBLA gold so no online yet. Might do so when I have some more free time.

Missed this:
Anyway, I've been playing this almost daily for the past month. It's really addictive, although a complete grind to get everything. I almost have all of Charlotte's spells maxed, the oly thing that's left is Dracula's stuff. My Soma's also pretty good, and I acquired a Valmanway a couple of days ago. It's fun, but I need a second.
Also, playing through with Soma with others managed to net me some Yasutsunas, which instantly made my Alucard worth using. I'd like to start Johnathan sometime soon as I've seen some really good Johnathans out there, and it gets dull blending in with the Somaways and Yasucards after awhile.
I've also made this vid, guy's most likely hacking, but I thought it was worth capturing regardless:

It still happens to me on a daily basis, especially if I'm hosting a game.StarCreator wrote:I can't say I've run into either of these issues. We've had people drop in the lobby and everyone else just gets shifted upward, and people drop mid-game, and their characters just disappear. I've only played with IRL friends though, I have absolutely no intention of joining random games.Elixir wrote:- One person leaving your lobby causes the entire room to drop.
- "Forming a team" can cause people to drop, causing others to drop as well.
Which is just your opinion, but then you'll never be progressing as Charlotte, nor Johnathan or Shanoa as their skills require constant use, and everyone just uses Survival Chapter 1 Hard for this.StarCreator wrote:Not seeing any reason to play this in single player ever unless I feel like grinding. Which I never feel like.Elixir wrote:- You can't pause in Singleplayer.
This is pretty much impossible unless you and someone you know have recently purchased the game. Everyone just aims for Chapter 6 Hard, to grind for Valmanways, Berserker Mails, Winged Boots and whatever else Dracula drops.StarCreator wrote:So don't play with people who have clearly played the game more than you have?Elixir wrote:- There is no level balancing. I had someone do 80 damage per hit when I first played--Chapter 1.
