As an owner of practically every soft pad under the sun, I have to disagree - Konami pads are quite durable, but they're impossible to keep completely flat without being taped to something, and they offer no tactile feedback whatsoever. I try not to play on soft pads anymore, but RedOctane Ignition pads would be the bare minimum as far as I'm concerned.Nario wrote:And no, I won't settle for Madcatz or Pelican or Red Octane what have you: only the original pads from Bemani/Konami, because they're seriously the best.

You make a good point, but I've experienced lag with RedOctane pads before and amongst a few other weird things, such as pressing buttons without actually touching them and having the top-left button act the same as left. With this said, I only trust the ones made by Konami/Bemani, even if they slip and slide every which way.StarCreator wrote:As an owner of practically every soft pad under the sun, I have to disagree - Konami pads are quite durable, but they're impossible to keep completely flat without being taped to something, and they offer no tactile feedback whatsoever. Psyvariar? Technically it's playable without shooting.
Raiden III? The controls aren't very fiddly (good luck with diving for power ups, though).

In all seriousness, I'd say Xevious. Think about it.

Ignoring Dangun's disco men and focusing on a mere 1CC would be such a waste, though.
Konami should make a DDR shmup (i.e. shmup designed with this control method in mind, maybe giving you some bouns points for keeping up with the rhythm).

I think what he meant was... um, how's the best way to put this... have you gotten a 1cc on Dangun yet?

1CC-ing Dangun Feveron is far beyond my reach at the moment, but I refuse to play it any other way than for the score (i.e. I'd rather lose a ship or bomb than miss one disco man). It's so much more fun this way that ignoring it would be a waste in my opinion. That is all.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Recca won't be the fifth game I play on a dance pad, even though that's what I told you all that's what I would do.
After having beaten Castlevania, Super Mario Bros., and Mega Man 2 with a dance pad, people are getting impatient. Now that I've started up Castlevania III, I've gotten so many messages saying "Why haven't you played Battletoads or Ninja Gaiden yet!?" and, frankly, I don't want to leave them hanging, so I'll be playing Ninja Gaiden on a dance pad after Castlevania III is finished.
You heard it here first. Sorry for the inconvenience/convenience.

I was thinking Galaga Legions since you can turn on auto-fire and don't have to push any buttons. Though you couldn't send out your sattelites, its still possible. I'm pretty sure I've seen another game or two that also have the auto-fire thing, but can't remember what they are right now. Oh, I guess I was thinking of AfterBurner Climax, after you unlock a few of the EX options, but that would be damn hard. And most people probably don't really consider those shmups.
