That Metatron game has really nice backgrounds and style, I'll be interested in seeing what happens with it.
Vanquish is bound to kick ass, with a track record of DMC, Viewtiful Joe, PNO3, Okami, Godhand, and Bayonetta, I'm a Mikami fanboy at this point.
Hmmm, I unfortunately never played any Deus Ex 1 and 2, but the trailer for Human Revolution looks remarkable, looks like a western Ghost in the Shell.

I doubt anything else will wet my whistle, I think the last non-shmup I've bough and played through was the first Yakuza, and that was a handful of years ago.

Well, Yakuza 3 came out not all too long ago for the PS3, and I read somewhere earlier today that Yakuza 4 was just announced to come Stateside as well.

I want to punch whoever created that fake Episode 3 teaser image and claimed it was from Valve. Right in the gonads.

Yes, because I trust Eurogamer about as far as I can throw them. And I can't throw them very far. But I'll take their word for it as I don't care about the game.

Eurogamer is probably the best site out there for reviews/previews, other than Rock Paper Shotgun. Dunno about news, but they're certainly better than most.

Moon Diver (PS3) E3 trailer.
I dunno if this deserves its own thread, but the game looks pretty rad - 4 player co-op 2.5D platformer slash 'em up with what look like some basic RPG elements. Looks very Strider-esque. The music in the trailer is pretty painful tho.
IGMO - Poorly emulated, never beaten.

Valve. That's about it. Portal 2 delay and EP3 not-happenings nonwithstanding, Valve knows how to make me happy.

It's almost E3 now! Can't wait to see the threeDS (lol at the name) and what design blunder Nintendo does. New hardware is always exciting, tho.

Music is crap. It's neither unique nor suiting. At least, crazy shit happens and it's not stupidly cliche like say Vanquish.

Hopefully this is a notification that Kojima is permanently retiring from game development to become a chef.

I don't see anything describing what this is. Is this the "reboot" I'm seeing some references to in Google?

And yes, agreed. REmake and RE4 on the Cube were good enough.

The 360 Slim has been confirmed. It will have built-in Wifi and a 250 GB HDD.

Originally spotted on an Italian site, since removed.

Somebody captured it and put it on Youtube.

It's now live on this website, atdmt, which is Microsoft's advertising.

Natal is now known as Kinect, confirmed here.

'Compatible with Kinect'? Looks like there won't be a bundle? Maybe? That would be a big mistake, but I doubt they'd mess up like that.
Software looks pretty bad, but visually a lot less shitty than Sony's efforts, though their controller is obviously a lot less terrible.
The rumoured prices ($150 and now $189) sound ridiculous and can't be real.

It's read Zan-datsu. First character, is cut/kill. Second is steal.

I think it has something to do with the trailer ;):

New Castlevania game announced for XBLA.

I will simply paste from IRC my uncensored reaction to this, log edited for clarity:
<bloodf> http://www.destructoid.com/e3-10-castle ... 6392.phtml
<bloodf> so it appears to be an attempt to re-use all their old graphics at the same time
<Megalixir> http://bulk2.destructoid.com/ul/176392- ... oscale.jpg
<Megalixir> what the hell is going on in this image?
<Megalixir> i see alucard, johnathan, bunch of others
<bloodf> pendulums
<bloodf> i told you, theyre trying to recycle all their cv graphics at the same time
<bloodf> its a new evolution in recycling
<szycag> with the co-op thing at least it'll do something that sotn didn't
<bloodf> suck?
<bloodf> 1) think of an emo title, 2) make up some new levels which look sort of different, 3) fill with enemies everyone has killed a thousand of, 4) add moar skelerangs
<BDA> They skipped "think of an emo title"
<BDA> I know "harmony" has been done
<BDA> and "despair" has probably been done, too.
<bloodf> i dont think theyve drawn a new background tile since the 90s
<bloodf> fucking skelerangs. god i hated them. not only annoying, but also stupid, even by gaming standards. standing there with a stupid fucking skeletal grin, holding what appears to be a genuine australian hunting boomerang
<bloodf> every damn game you jump up somewhere and a skelerang is like 'hurr', and you fall down again
<Pentarou> I don't remember them being a problem in any of the GBA or DS games.
<bloodf> theyre not difficult, just irritating
<BDA> I haven't played any of the post-SOTN games.
<BDA> I wonder if I should.
<bloodf> youve already played them
<bloodf> theyre all 'sotn with less imagination and not as good'
<bVork> all of them are like sotn but not as good
<bVork> yeah
<bVork> 'and sprites lifted from games as far back as rondo'
<bloodf> sotn has better music than all of them too
<bVork> yes
<BDA> Wasn't SOTN half Rondo sprites anyway?
<bloodf> now you're catching on ;)
Still, Dead Space 2 looks good.

"Kinect" is the stupidest name I could have possibly imagined. I'm blown away at the stupidity of the name. It's just so ludicrously stupid.

Did I mention how stupid it is?

The new 360 will also have wireless built-in, and the existing models are getting price cuts: http://e3.gamespot.com/story/6265465/ne ... -price-cut Hands-on with the new slim 360: http://www.gamespot.com/special_feature ... Btitle%3B3

Quote from that last link: "Microsoft updated the internals of the console with a 45nm integrated CPU and GPU. By comparison the chipset at launch was manufactured on a 90nm process, and was later updated to be manufactured on a 65nm process. Smaller manufacturing processes generally lead to cooler running chips and reduced manufacturing costs."

Good news, I hope it is more durable! I still only have a CRT TV, but now that the Arcade 360's are $150, it's getting tempting to buy one!

Well, it's the age-old battle of whether innovation matters. I don't care and could play Metroid clones all year long (although I prefer original linear Castlevania). AOS, POR, and OOE have their additions but they still don't feel as complete as SOTN to me; however, I still enjoy them for their base mechanics. I'll buy this game anyway but I'm not really hyped.

Anyway, on Kinect, I find it difficult to believe the GameStop listing wasn't deliberate. It was added too soon around the time of the official announcement. I bet it was to gauge the price point and Microsoft has probably realized today that a $150 range for the gimmicky device itself would be an untenable disaster. Of course, any Joe Shmoe could've told them that...

DoS is like AoS 1.5 and it's weird how the graphic quality can vary so much within one game. On one hand, you have amazing levels like the last level. Then, you have utterly uninspired and repetitive parts like the whole cavern section. Pretty much all the recycled sprites are shrunk and have the tendency to look like crap. Alucard looks particularly bad. Still, it's mostly good and the brilliant parts make up for its shortcomings.
