More power could also mean that they removed the slowdowns

The main flaws of Beestorm are:

- It not made by Cave
- The score doesn't reset with credit feeding
- It not made by Cave
- It's not emulated / ported
- It not made by Cave

After removing the Cave goggles people will see, that's actually a quality game.
Ever played energy mode? It maybe the first arrange mode of a Cave game ever?!
Bosses look awesome (got totally new animation) and have completely new attacks.
The music is better than DP,DPP too

DDP>DP>DFKBL>DFK>DOJ>DDP2 yes it's my least favorite, but still good enough

It's worth the crappy 80 EUR if you ain't an OCD.
The future is 2D

I almost exclusively played energy mode. Had a score around 190mil.
The game is pretty "meh" imo.
It's an ok game and you can play it, but it just isn't too much fun.

Bee storm rules. Buzzing on bosses to get your hit counter up, parking lots of tanks, energy charge pace, the game is amazing I play it all the time.

It's not as flashy as ddp, but still plenty intense, plus energy mode seriously rules. Trapped in the corner- "ready?" PEEEEEEOOOOOOOW!

So do we have anyone willing to actually take the plunge and get this?

I'd actually be willing to chip in a little if some of the locals here were interested in acquiring one as a group... the curiosity is sort of gnawing at me.

I'm curious as well but the risk/price ratio seems out of whack.

If the price comes down a good bit then I'm in. I guess time will do that, but by then the curiosity factor will probably be moot.

$900 for a new kit isn't bad considering, but agree the price will probably drop like a rock soon enough, so I'd just hold out as well.

Also, I wouldn't expect Fannie to really understand the differences in gameplay.

Maybe we can get JAPJAC, our man on the street, to get a FIRST HERE review of it?

If by "review", you mean, loads of poor cellphone photos of the board with his thumb in the way... then yes.

Well I wouldn't really have a big problem with the price for the new kit if I had confidence in the quality. PGM2 has always been a curiosity anyways.

Fannie asked if I wanted to go ahead and pick up 2 pieces.

I gotta' admit....this one had me prepared to throw caution to the wind as well out of sheer curiosity. I doubt they produced many of them and it could end up being a cool piece to own.

Is this an exact copy of DOJ as far as gameplay and graphics are concerned, or is it some kind of remix edition?

I still think a legit question, is did they TRY to port the game over and get close or were they shooting for an arrange version?

Bags of crap - I wish I'd spotted this when I interviewed Cave - I could have snuck in a question (or maybe I couldn't, as its an IGS game, and it would have been a bit out of context in the interview).

Anyway - this has me super intrigued.

If it does turn out to be DOJ2 that's fine by me, as I have great fun playing DDP2 (and mainly playing on Bomb mode).

you should buy it and get the WR before anyone else starts playing ;)

its not around in japan, so proboably they just sold IGS the license to release the game for their latest game-starved hardware is all..

£350 seems like a decent price. I'll wait for that sort of price before i'll dump cash on it.
