Yeah, those work well :) Maybe almost too bright on the monitor I'm using here!

I actually just found a fix for the 'shimmering' problem I was experiencing in mame. I have an nvidia 7800 card and I was using older 94.xx drivers because those were the last ones that worked properly with reflex from siter skain (I actually downgraded to those drivers when I got reflex in order to play it). I just updated to the newest nvidia drivers and it fixed my mame problem! Unfortunately reflex is broken again (the game plays in slow motion), but if anyone else is had any problems similar to mine I would suggest looking at your graphic card drivers in addition to the emulators themselves.

I do have one other strange problem that the card driver update didn't fix. When I use ePSXe and pe ops soft driver 1.18, it gives me great scanlines, but when I play it full screen my desktop doesn't disappear. Instead the desktop stays visible and epsxe is visible overlayed on top of the desktop. Other plugins don't do this, but this plugin I have found to be the best for 2d games. If anyone knows about this I'd be curious to know how to fix it.

I bet the problem with 'reflex' could be fixed with nHancer (which allows the creation of profiles changing what settings are applied to various programs vis a vis the video subsystem) - I don't know exactly what settings you'd need, though it might be something simple like forcing off some effects.

196.21 works like a charm here. Could this problem be related specific to your videocard model? I can't remember ever having trouble with the latest bunch of nvidia driver and RefleX.

This is specific to the 7 series (and earlier). There was actually a thread on Reflex on this forum where other people mentioned the problem (where the game runs almost in slow motion, even though the speed on the menu section is normal) and someone linked to a page on the official siter skain site, which I just found is at http://www.siterskain.com/reflex/faq.htm and the auto translated version is this:

Q: GeForce slower video card to malfunction in the series. (Trial, Complete Common)

A: The current nVidia is to optimize the chip according to the latest video drivers do not support a decent video chip in the past. Therefore, it is highly likely to cause problems in installing the latest drivers and reverse. (This occurs even in the game Oblivion or FF11 as well as to commercial.)
Wiki nVidia drivers refer to, please use a version of the driver for your video card was.

If you don't use Chisel Tip scanlines, you are casual.

I'm done. Other than refining the shadowmask overlay, this is as sweet and clean as it can be done in MAME :)

Ollllllld post, but I'm not seeing an option for scanlines with FCEUX. Been trying it out and I seem to like it, just can't find the option anywhere.
