Never used this Feint crap before, but I like it. I appear to be pretty good with Asagi compared to most people with the game... .thats a first

A little glitch - sometimes when charging the barrier my character wont move, this happening to anyone else?

Otherwise the game is so playable I just nailed a 1CC on Arcade, this shit is fun they better make more.

That's a fair comparison.

I really enjoy it, I think the touch screen controls work well.

The best part: Cave collectors can't gouge the price. At $5, it's the cheapest Cave shooter you can buy.

Feint is built in, you just have to make an account, it is pretty slick - I'm impressed.

Just dropped to 3rd place in arcade mode, going to have to figure out the iPhone mode eventually.

One other thing, three screen settings for game field size. I'm usually using the largest, but occasionally my hands get in the way of the action, what are people using for best results?

They better fix the iPod touch compatibility issues or this game is going to go unnoticed.

Hrm, doesn't work on my 3G.. Do I update my phone or spring for the iPad?

Actually it's more a curiosity for me but if they keep porting then it's going to have to happen.

^^. Wait on upgrading your phone, there is a very good chance that a new model will arrive this summer so they can phase out the non-OS4 compatible ones.

That said, playing a shmup on a phone would destroy my eyes, but the iPad screen is a good size, only problem is that even when zoomed X2 there is a small dead space around the border that can sometimes interfere with movement when you accidentally move your finger over it, really no biggy though.

Yeah I'm going to grab the next phone for sure. I'd grab an iPad now but the wife thinks I need it for Christmas. Problem is that's a long fucking time and by then I'll probably be waiting for the second gen or something.

Got my iPad today after waiting, and this is an excellent port and the iPhone mode is awesome. I'm #29 after my survival oriented first run, so it looks like some people are playing for score. This is good. Also: 2199 scores on Asagi iPhone mode, and I haven't done a run with her yet. There have been at minimum 2200 sales in two days for this app, which pretty good for a first game in the market.

I've been playing this on my iPad, and aside from a couple of minor control issues (keep hitting buttons I don't mean to) it plays quite well. Still suck at the game (haven't made it past the level 3 boss yet) but I'd be interested to see how they got that many bullets on screen at once without horrendous slowdown (Based on experience, I'd say preventing slowdown is probably more likely the reason this won't run on iPhone 3G than the stated lack of RAM.)

Unlike all of you I hope this is a one-off thing. I don't buy apple products out of principle and Galuda II isn't going to change that.

I am glad that it's getting a good response though. It shows that Cave knows it's shit, in the arcade or out.

I hate to go all grammar police on you, I don't think this is really what you meant, although I'm sure there may be several people here who agree with this statement.

There is no need to wait for a patch for the iPod touch. Do it yourself quite easily:

I'm not clear on the reason for the incompatibility with the 3G iPhone. Will this patch make it work there as well?

no. only 3rd gen 32/64 gb models got the upgraded soc hardware that the game requires. the 3rd gen 8 gig model is just a repackaged 2nd gen with iphone os 3.

edit: i didn't read the whole post on the page linked to when i first wrote this, looks like it may work. according to the post the fix provided should at least get the game up and running on ipods/iphones with the arm11 core but it probably will crash due to the limited memory at some point after that. i have a 3rd gen 8 gig ipod touch so i'll probably try this out later, i'll post back if i do and if it works.

iPhone 3G and pre-3rd gen iPod Touch models don't have the extra memory or the upgraded processor from the iPhone 3GS, so no.

for anyone who was thinking of trying to install this game on pre 3gs hardware (pre 3rd gen ipods/iphones, 3rd gen ipod touch 8 gig) don't bother, i just tried it and it doesn't get past the title screen. i wasn't expecting it to work right but i was hoping i'd at least get to try the first level. oh well, was only $5.

According to this interview Cave is already working on porting another of its arcade titles to the iPhone, though it declines to say which.

Thanks for trying it out and posting the results. I was thinking about getting an 8 gig unit some weeks ago...thank god I didn't do it. If only the 32 one wouldn't be so expensive...

They'd probably have a hit on their hands if they chose to port Uo Poko...

I'm surprised PopCap hasn't already stolen the Uo Poko mechanic for a game of "their own". I'm with you on this though, Uo Poko for iphone would be perfect, and should be able to work on all generations of the hardware.
