The ones that i know for sure:
ikd/e01i18.png - Please wait a moment
ikd/p01_00.png - regular shot - lock-shot
ikd/p02_00.png - T-too late~

ikd/p06_00, 01, 02.png:
top row: speed - regular shot - locking time
second row: slow - wide - short
third row: fast - concentrated - long

ikd/p06_03.png: - Hitbox is the same

ikd/p07_00.png
green: you multiplier / player's multiplier
red: opponent's multiplier
bottom: multiplier meter

ikd_p07_01.png
blue letters: Chance mode! [technically it's chance state, but it think that chance mode sounds better]
bottom: You'll win in 5 seconds! / victory in 5 seconds!

feel free to correct me if i'm wrong

Here's the first batch of translated images.
Some have an alternative version (third image).
Please tell me what you think, or what could need improvements or better translation.

PS. Maybe we should post this thread on CAVE-STG as well.
I think there are a lot of foreign Japanese people there that can help translate.

Still need a proper translation for the sub-title. Maybe "Kizuna Jigoku [Cutting the Bonds of Hell]"?

If I were you I would choose the ones with different stretching, because Japanese is just so different from English. But I have nothing to do with this except getting it when it is done, so maybe I should just go ignored.

As z3tzilla mentioned - it's an open translation. So everyone's input is welcome :)
I kinda like the stretched ones better myself. Even though it is really "not-done" in the graphic industry to stretch lettering.
Seems to me that the original Japanse characters are stretched sometimes as well.

Awesome job so far, and a really unexpected effort coming from this side of the globe! Hey, if this works out, maybe we can pair up for Russian translation as well, huh? I don't really know Japanese, but I'm near-fluent in both general English and the shmup vocabulary. Tell me if you're up for it. :)

Could you make the bottom-right corner of "N" in "-san" a bit less squashed? Otherwise this is really good!
joeks wrote:Image
This feels like it's missing punctuation at the end but I wouldn't mind either way.

I prefer #3 in both cases.
joeks wrote:Image
#2 looks better, but I would advise against using the spacing from fixed-width font for exclamation marks. In Japanese they have to use fixed width for everything including punctuation in vast majority of cases, but there's no reason for us to do the same, really. :)

joeks, i'll give you some text soon.
Also, could you please change bot "standart shot" and "shot" to regular shot in p01_00 and p06_00-03?
It's just that i've used the term "regular shot" throughout the whole translation and they are talking about that in those lessons.
Oh, and check your PM.

moozooh, check your PM.

Altered images and added three new ones:

There are more images that still need to be done. So if any of you can help translate them that would be of great help.
(for original images, see download link in first post). Thanks.

Hi!

First of all, i'd like to apologize to any people who eagerly waited for any information about the project. I didn't have any status updates, so you all were in the dark about this. I'm sorry for that.

Second, the project is NOT dead. It never was. It met some difficulties, like the translator leaving the project or me being busy with more important stuff in my life. I've had a chance to get some help from Evrain, but i kind of wasted it. :(

As of right now, it's active. We're doing things slow, but steady. Only 20 IKD episodes remaining, along with the pictures, that are the main priority now.

Lastly, i will complete the project, no matter how many days or months it'll take, of that you can be sure. Even if other groups will do it first, i will not drop the project. So stay tuned :)

Anyway, here's the first public version of the translation:Ketsui_v01.zip

Wow- thanks so much for this, it almost makes KDL a different game now that the EVAC reports are understandable.
Looking forward to reading the rest of "Teach Me..." in English too.
Let's just do our best!

Forgot to ask.

Does anybody have a save with all IKD episodes unlocked? Or, at least, those that i have locked.
They're unlocked for opening EVAC Report panels, and i've only got the most annoying ones left to open:
- destroy every part of Bull Frog;
- defeat every boss by destroying all of his parts. Why, hello again, Bull Frog;
- get a score that's 10 000 points less than a highscore)
I can't do them, no matter how much i try to.

Why do i need it?
While it is possible to translate without the unlocked episodes, it is very, very difficult to do since you don't know who says which phrase and when.
Oh, and you can't check the result either.

My locked episodes: 26, 27, 28, 33, 34, 35

Also, if you notice anything wrong with the translation - do tell me, i'll fix it.

Is the savegame file checksum protected ?

If it isn't shouldn't it be possible to hack the savegame file ?

There were system messages saying that save data is corrupted and will be repaired, so i don't know, maybe there is some sort of hacking protection. I'll give it a try, though.
There's also an option of making tool-assisted run in order to make sure that both Bull Frog's wings are destroyed at the same time...

A question for all of you who've played the 2nd loop of the Arcade version.
What happens to the suicide bullets when you destroy an enemy while being very, very close to him?
They either don't appear or appear, but miss the player completely. Which one is it?

Are you still working on this? I had a friend translate the endings to Ketsui, I'm sure he'd be alright with helping with this project. I'll let him know.
