Those Ikaruga and TF V pictures are very good even the perverted ones are really well drawn. However theres a link on that site to an even better artist who while not shmup art is some of the best mech and giger-esk fantasy / sci-fi ive seen in a long time that ive spent the last 2 or 3 hours admiring his work and reading the detailed describtions that give the art life.

Keith Thompson is his name a professional artist /illustrator whos work includes boarderlands the videogame.

Once upon a time there was a forum member called Fev who did some damn fine shmup artwork. I can't remember her website, but I know it's out there somewhere.

Fev is a good friend of mine and will eventually be doing a large piece of Parodius fanart for me (she has kinda transitioned to doing cosplay prop work in recent years). I think she still has one more of the 22x28 pieces of the Gradius art: http://fevereon.com/axis/gallery/vic.php which looks awesome no matter which way it is angled.
