Some quality gaming during lunch (Will probably be hell to pay when they find out I installed mame on the work computer)

Picking a new game: Finalizer - Super Transformation. Mid-80s Konami shooter with a fun scoring bonus I won't spoil (so you have to play, see). Post score.

Very interesting, the Finalizer bonus mode reminds me of Juno First. Fun game some of the enemy patterns are cheap though and I don't like how some of the bonus items suck. I also like how happy music is constantly playing even when your not getting points. It just kind of sucks that the only way to get a good score is to get that one bonus at a good time. I'll definitely be playing this again.

Come on no one else is joining this thread? A saw some old schoolers complain about their being nothing but Cave threads but no else has any scores or obscure games to raise awareness of? One of the main reason I go on this forum is to talk super obscure mame games.I have a new game for everyone to try if theirs anybody else looking in this thread.

If you want to recommend something that's cool, but I got dibs on the one after this. Did you see the similarity to Juno First? Finalizer is definitely charming if it didn't fuck me in so many ways I might go back to regularly. Some really creative enemy patterns in old Finalizer.

I'm shamed to say that I actually haven't played Juno first yet  No recommendations from me sir, I trust in your good taste :)

Make sure you follow the main enemy or you'll be milking pop corns for quite awhile.

I was waiting for something to happen and then remembered your comment, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to follow since you can go to a variety of sub-levels depending on what is bouncing all over the screen (or what monster decides to swallow you). It's just a really weird and sloppy game. Being sent to one of these alternate areas has killed me immediately a few times in the 30 minutes I've played it.

Lead boots and rocket packs don't mix.

Forget Raffleasia let's play Radical Radial. This is one my personal favorites. The only game where you can be invincible for more then half of the total gameplay time.

Is it Ikaruga??

Sweet, a Nichibutsu game where you play as a badass tire. I can live with this.

I'm liking this game. The capsules in the light blue section can be cheap, though.

Indeed. :( When the screen becomes congested, I usually hammer the jump button, move around a bit, and hope for the best.

actually dodging the capsule cars seems a little easier than I first thought, except for that occasional red-one-with-the-lights-and-sirens that will send cars flying

Are you missing pal16h2.2b? If so, try Mame 0.106 (or an earlier version).

No prob. Every so often, the Mame developers will modify a game's romset. Kind of annoying, but you can use this site to keep track of the changes.
