Thank you, caldwert, for tidying up the list!

Looks fantastic! A third cab would be great, but I know its tough if you don't have a van or SUV.

I have some time to come up with some scoring competitions, so I should be able to have 2 solid games picked for scoring. I do have a game in mind for a goof-off late competition. Ibara with all the hardest settings engaged!!! Should be laughable!

Assuming that I can make it, and it looks good.. I should be able to bring the following, barring some odd circumstance. Also let me know about console titles that may be desired.

DeathSmiles Mega Black Label
DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu 1.5
DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu Black Label
Ibara Kuro: Black Label
Muchi Muchi Pork!
Mushihime-sama Futari Black Label

I think I knocked out the duplicates properly.

Wow, this is going to be insane. Maybe I'll have to rent a van from work for this.

We will either need:
-More cabs
-Fewer PCBs (we could thin down the list to stuff people REALLY want to see)
-Lots of consoles to keep people busy
-Beer and strippers

Screw it, lets move the meet to Ottumwa, IA and rent out a store front in some two bit town's "downtown" district.

brentsg is my new best friend! DFK, Futari, and MMP! I think I just heard a thump as drboom's body slumped to the floor.

As far as consoles go, sounds like you should bring any of your PC Engine/Turbo Grafx shmups to this event.

Well if we have a Japanese 360 there it would eliminate DS / DS MBL / Futari from the cab queue. Also in terms of slimming down the list, there's no need for 2 different DeathSmiles boards anyways.

Theoretically if they come thru with a good patch, we could do DOJ on the 360 too.

Yeah, that would be overkill on Deathsmiles. Although, drboom may hold off on bringing the original if anyone wants to try out Mega.

As far as the others go, they look sooooo much better in low res! 8) Bring, bring, bring!

Definitely looking forward to trying out some Ketsui and DFK, along with everything else of course :P

I feel kinda bad that I don't have a lot to bring to the table...my only PCB is an Empire City 1931 that came with an old cab that was stored in someone's barn (!) years back (surprisingly, the board was pretty clean and still works perfectly). I have a PS2 with HDLoader and all the cave releases though (plus a few others) if that could prove to be of any use.

Looks like yet another shmupmeet I probably cannot make it to unfortunately. I think all of the games I had brought to Todd's the first time are accounted for this time around by everyone else anyway. Have fun, bros.

I can bring a JP 360 if anybody wants, I have Deathsmiles, DOJ, Mushi Futari, Raiden Fighters Aces, Mamorokun or however it is spelled, and Otomedius G. What sort of TV do you have mr. gunbird18? I'm debating taking my Samsung 46" LCD for the JP 360, but if you have something similar, then no need. The TV doesn't weight a lot, I'm just not sure how well it is suited to surviving a car ride. I could foresee in the future this being a full blown event with registration and admission, oh and shmup groupies  hahaha.

What I told stuminator was true about not playing as much shmups stuff lately (been more into FPS stuff on 360 :? ) and the fact that I'm still not into the cab/pcb scene so feeling bad that I can't contribute much besides headcount. Truth is there's been a lot of family and real life stuff going on too and I didn't really know where my head would be at in even three months time. Anyways it does sound like a blast but I'd be more comfortable RSVPing closer to springtime.

I could contribute my bannerbombed Wii, I know drboom was sort of interested in seeing Star Soldier R. I can throw anything on there you guys would want to try. Sin and Punishment 2 should be out in the US by then?

I wouldn't feel bad about showing up and not having anything to bring PCB wise. I'm glad to watch people get excited over games I bring or be able to show them games they might not otherwise have seen or known about. I fully plan on having a shmup/arcade meet whenever I finally can afford a house of my own that isn't a crackerjack box. Hopefully you can make it in April, which seems like an eternity away right now.

I think we have the pcb scene covered. As far as consoles go, I guess you may bring whatever you like. That will help since we may only have 2, possibly 3 cabs. If you are having to wait for a lovely session of Deathsmiles on the E2, well maybe you can pop it into the 360 and tear it up on the LCD screen. I like the idea.

Just keep in mind that most of these meets become a PCB showcase because we love to see what the other collector has. Each of us has a different variety of games that we get into, and it is great to hear some of the stories of how each of us came into possession of the board.

So, consoles that will be present:

XBOX 360 - caldwert
PCengine/Duo - drboom
Japanese Saturn - gunbird18
Japanese DC - gunbird18
PS2 - drunkninja

Sounds like caldwert has the 360 games covered for the system. drboom has some great games for the Duo. I have a few for the Saturn, but if you have the Cotton games, please feel free to bring them. I have all of the good shmups for the DC.

I don't have any "thin" tvs, caldwert. Bring what you are able to. I have a 32" Panasonic fatboy.

Would like to see you there szycag, but take care of what you need to. Praying for good things to happen for you.

Thanks!

I have all of the Saturn shooters, even the bad ones... if anyone wants to play something.

I've got an extra Dodonpachi "best" or whatever that I bought new if anyone wishes to buy one.

If by "bad ones" you are referring to Skull Fang, I am in complete agreement with you!

Stuminator, what do you need in order for us to get your cab here?

I am not driving over to KC,KS just so we can have your cab at the meet!

Do you have some close relatives with a bitchin' Ford Windstar or Chrysler Town & Country???

Wow that's a heck of a games list for this meet. Makes me sad I can't make it, a trip that big just wouldn't work out well during school.

Yes, it is looking like a very busy day! I can't wait! Probably won't be able to stomach any more shmups for about a week after the meet!

I totally understand about school. Would've been cool to shoot over to drboom's in Chicago and ride over with him, huh?

It would've, I'm probably going to be in Chicago the following weekend even. You old folks have a problem with scheduling things during the school year :P . If my next apartment has the space I may have to try and host a summer meet myself since that time seems to be pretty open for that sort of thing.

I WANNA GO, goddamnit!
I'm tired of missing these things!

Only problem is......I have to way to get out there.
If there is anyone near the Saint Louis area who is attending, i'd be eternally grateful if you could let me hitch a ride along with y'all.
I don't stink and i'll throw in on some gas money/cigarettes/weed/prostitutes/whatever you have in mind (within reason, mind you).
Please lemme know if you can help a brother out.
Please.

PS...are there gonna be some females there? (preferably single ones)

@ Andi - :D 8)

@ Damocles - Come on over! caldwert should have the 360 shmups taken care of. I'll take a look at his list again, and we should try to have one post with all arcade boards showing up and then a post with all consoles attending.

This may be at the college after all! Basement will be a very small venue with a couple of cabs and a couple of TV's running. Plus a pinball machine (or 2  ).

Damocles: The last 2 Chicago meets, Szycag has brought his flash cart and I've died 10 credits or so of Undead Line. If it shows up again, I'm expecting you to demonstrate your mastery.

Well, you can scratch Bakraid and Viper Phase 1 off of the list for now. Viper had some issues, so it goes back to the seller, and Bakraid was sacrificed for...wait for it...Bride of Pinbot! My Pinbot was getting pretty lonely, so I had to find his Bride! Duh!

Shouldn't miss a couple shmup titles as it sounds like we still have about one hundred shmups to sift through in a day.

I'm certainly not going to miss them when I have Ketsui, Deathsmiles, and DFK to play!
