have to admit that, that particular scene caught me by surprise. I fell out of my chair laughing. Great acting from Landa, and the tarantino dialogue is epic as usual.

watched District 9 yesterday without knowing anything about it apart from 1 trailer I saw at the movies prior to wathing Zombieland. What an awesome sci-fi flick that was. Loved every minute of it. The alien weapons that was fire made me think 'rathet & clank' and made for some awesome action. Not often you see a guy being taken out by a flying pig

I watched this sleazy movie from 1988 called "Deadbeat at Dawn".

DEADBEAT AT DAWN is great. Check out COMBAT SHOCK for a similar no-budget joyride.

Has anyone else here seen GOMORRAH? It's the Italian film that won the Grand Prize at Cannes in 2008. The Criterion dvd is out now with a presentation by Martin Scorsese. It's one of the best and most brutally realistic gangster pictures I've ever fucking seen.

A Serious Man, by the Coen brothers, is one of their best films. Good acting, subtle plot, a lot of interesting scenes and themes, and somehow fun.
A Christmas Carol by Robert Zemeckis is very faithful to the book and stylish; Jim Carrey is great, as usual. A milestone of the maturation of CG cinema, up there with Wall-E.
