I have only played VIII, but I thought it was just great. I have never really played the others because of the first person battle view. I HATE that.

It tells me that you can release more games when you have two different developers working on them in two year cycles (i.e. Infinity Ward and Treyarch)?
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

I'm the opposite to you. I haven't played much DQ8 (played the demo) because I don't like the third person battles. It makes battles longer and it's cool and unique when the enemies attack you in your face. In DQ8, most of the time I only see the enemies' back attacking me. I want to see their angry faces, not their asses. It feels too much like Final Fantasy.

Three hit or less kills of mooks is something a ton of the DQ clones didn't get. Yeah yeah - the entire game is casting the defense up and down spells, mindlessly smashing things into the ground, healing when required.

The only grind (since #3) after the initial ~12 minutes is the mid boss who kills your party with pressure instead of laughably managable spike damage - so if you don't have Heal Us yet it can be a potentially difficult fight to win.

"piles" of batteries, you say? That must have been a very subtle little pun. Since, you're in Canada, there's a chance you at least know some French. 8)

I just can't get into that. But then again, I hate first person anything, really. I just can't get into a battle where the enemy just sorta flashes a bit, and that signifies that I hit him. Bland. I want to see some ass-kicking!
