Hey, I enjoy Cave's games and all, and consider myself a fan of what I'd call "Old Cave", but I'm definitely not the type to throw $50-60 at Arika for what I'd call a "table scraps port", especially when New Cave hasn't really given enough of a shit to port their games to PS2 anymore.Jockel wrote:Apples and oranges.Zweihander wrote: It's like taking Sonic 2 for Genesis, making a "boss fights only" version of it, and releasing it for $50 on a next-gen system.

Anyway, $50 is QUITE A FUCKING PRICETAG for what's literally half a game at best. Waste of good money when you think about it, considering (yet again) Thunder Force 6 is on its way. THE Thunder Force 6.

Then why do you KEEP POSTING HERE and not in the TF6 thread instead? How peculiar you didn´t post a single thing THERE.Zweihander wrote:THE Thunder Force 6.
Besides, I will pay the full price for this game and nothing you´re saying will ever change that. What do you gain from trying to convince people otherwise? I bet you just enjoy being annoying.
Yes, THE Thunder Force 6.
NOT brought to you by Tecno Soft and everything.
I will happily pay for a nice on-the-go shmup (something there are far too few of) over some hack at Sega's remix of TFIII-TFV.
I mean shit, Judgement Silversword is probably shorter than Ketsui DS will wind up being, and people happily pay over $100 for that (and its worth it!)

Well, people still throw money at Madden, Naruto fighting games, and hell, people even bought SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG... I guess people will always waste their money on products that wind up being worth less than they paid for (regardless of whether the fanboy gland in the back of their brain screams otherwise) so I guess it can't be helped. HAY WOW GAIS, $50 FOR 10 MINUTES OF KETSUI! THAT'S LIKE, $5 A MINUTE! HOW CAN I GO WRONG!! ^___^FrederikJurk wrote:Then why do you KEEP POSTING HERE and not in the TF6 thread instead? Tell you what: You buy your overpriced boss-rush demo, and I'll buy it when it hits a reasonable price of $25 or less. I only buy $50+ shooters when they're FULL-FLEDGED GAMES, so half a game = half the cost. I'll also be R4'ing it upon its release, just to make sure it's even worth my $25. Play-Asia lists it as $60, a ludicrous price for a demo.
I'll buy the full game when it's released if the free DS demo grabs me. Until then, it's just a budget game with a non-budget price. The full game will likely end up on the Xbox Live arcade for $10-15 within a year after its commercial release in Japan, anyway.

This made me laugh. The "best" Sailor Moon arcade beat-em-up PCB usually sells for $2000+, even though it was a terrible excuse for a game. If it was "the best", I'd hate to play the other ones. The price of a PCB is ALWAYS ridiculous, even for half-decent games.brokenhalo wrote:$50 for a half a game....that currently can't be bought for under $800 or so? doesn't sound so bad to me.

I'm nowhere near an expert on these issues (duh), but I don't think pcbs were even meant to be sold for personal use, hence the high price.Zweihander wrote:This made me laugh. As far as the second hand market goes, you only have Shmups.system11.org to thank for that one.

I'm guessing this Sailor Moon PCB is rare. People will pay anything for something if it's rare. Ketsui isn't particularly hard to find, and it still goes for a lot of money. This is because people are also willing to pay a lot for a good game.Zweihander wrote:This made me laugh. Also, is 10 minutes a playthrough really that short? Remember, this is a game designed to play on the toilet, on the bus, and in lunch breaks at work. Strikers 1999 is only 15 mins a loop, and I'm sure most people find it more than satisfying.

Yeah, except I don't care about PCB's, because I don't buy them. I'm not going to blame the collectors for wanting a hefty fee for their PCB's when it's really Cave/Arika's faults for slacking and not porting Mushi 2, Galuda 2, and Ketsui to the 360, PS3, or PC already.Never_Scurred wrote:I'm nowhere near an expert on these issues (duh), but I don't think pcbs were even meant to be sold for personal use, hence the high price.Zweihander wrote:This made me laugh. On the note of rarity: IT. DOESN'T. MATTER. IF. KETSUI. ISN'T. RARE. $800 is still a ludicrous price for a game and shouldn't be considered in an argument over the unrully high cost of an all-too-short portable game.MX7 wrote:I'm guessing this Sailor Moon PCB is rare. On the note of Ketsui's brevity: Um, I don't know about you, but if I'm going to pay $50+ for a SHOOTER, it had better be at least half an hour long. OH NOES, lunch break is over! God forbid someone pause the game and close their DS. That whole "sleep mode" thing is just a myth, after all.

Well, I just find it sad that people WILL buy it, instead of demanding more than just a demo. $50 is the price of a full game. By the way, Play-Asia shows almost $60 for it, dunno where this $50 hogwash came from in the first place. $58.99 + shipping =/= $50. Bangai-O Spirits (Japanese version) cost me less than $50, and is quite the bargain in terms of length and longevity, especially when compared to a $60+ demo of Ketsui.Never_Scurred wrote:Understood.Zweihander wrote:Yeah, except I don't care about PCB's, because I don't buy them. simple mathematics made you laugh? and your sailor moon argument has nothing to do with the topic at hand. sounds more like a collectors market driving up the price of a maybe rare pcb.Zweihander wrote:This made me laugh. I agree. But i'm past the point of complaining about it. I, personally, would not buy this game knowing that there is a 360 port coming.Zweihander wrote:Well, I just find it sad that people WILL buy it, instead of demanding more than just a demo. $50 is the price of a full game.
