the "official" collection thread is a joke.
Huh wait... Why? Care to explain?
sure, aside from the first post (and maybe one or two others), its just a loooong and boring namedropping list.

imo a collection thread should be full of loveley pictures, not rows of eternal text. (maybe its just me?)

It might be just you. I don't mind reading text. A picture is always great, though...

Oh, ok. No matter how much I stressed that people would put their pics (thumbnails) there, only a few did. I think the thread would be a lot better If I could add a post at the beginning with a list of links directing to each user's collection. Maybe I'll ask a moderator if such a thing is possible.

edit: like LGB, I think a couple shots are nice but the written lists give overall a better idea. They're easier to keep up to date too. (keep yours updated guys!)

don't delete the thread

most forums i visit have gallery sub-sections where everyone posts their stuff just in picture form, and it's great. people like showing off their stuff, as well as seeing the cool shit other people have. UK games mag gamestm recently took out their Ultimate Collection page out of the retro section, which is a real shame. i've seen nimrodil's insance treasure collection; guys who have every iteration of every sega hardware; complete japanese megadrive collections; rare proto-type stuff; etc etc.

i started a thread here just for people to show pics of their guitars (i have a fetish!). and people loved it.

I'll add a couple of shots to mine at some point.

To be honest, I use Turrican's thread just to keep on top of my collection. I guess I'm a bit of a list maker by nature, but I think it's both useful and nice to see what other people are doing and how their tastes differ. It also makes me drool at the bigger collections...

EDIT: Sorry Skykid - I'll change my squirrel tits soon! It took me so long to find a picture of a squirrel in traditional female Japanese clothing with that classic Geisha haircut I only had time to slap part of the image on your own pert pair.

I was only joking him. Was just trying to lighten the mood a bit. It reminded me of that scene with Henry Winkler (Fonz) in Arrested Development, where he pulls up to some hooker at night in his car -

Henry : Hey, you're not one of those funny guys that dresses up as a woman are you?!
Hooker : No honey, I'm allll woman...

(car screeches off down the road)

Perhaps cool, but definitely laid back for a guy in his forties who hung around, smooth-talking kids all day, and whose base of shady operations was the gents toilets. Imagine how traumatised Ralph 'the Mouth' must have been. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeugh!!

That picture's nothing to do with Skykid. They'd be far more gaming gear in the background, and it might possibly be labeled

I'm interested in the white 'upright' object on the floor. Is that some kind of faux-phalli/arcade stick combination?

EDIT: Can't even be bothered.

It's probably difficult for JoshF to never be able to get a real girlfriend, let's not hurt his feelings any more than the pictures of my girlfriend clearly already have.
