GHE
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

I use ICE.
Mainly 'cause it's Cool.
But if it's Guilty Gear...it's always gonna be DKY short for Darkside Ky.

The world would be a better place if there were less shooters and more dot-eaters.

Yes, pure genius, BulletMagnet. Not only for KGP, but any game inconsiderate enough to only have one high score table. Why didn't I ever think of it?Shatterhand wrote:Man, that's a great idea! I think I'll reset my high-score table now, just to do this.. honestly, great idea, thanx for thatBulletMagnet wrote:Most of the time I'll just use my initials, but if I have a bad run I'll sometimes use "ARG."
In games with limited high-score tables I'll sometimes use the initials to "organize" them a bit...for instance, on Kingdom Grand Prix, there's only one HS table for both "racing" and "shooting" modes. Thus, for my racing high scores I use my normal initials, but for shooting scores I put "SHU" so I know what mode it came from.
I use NIK, which is almost my name. I use it universally, even with games that allow 4 or more letters.

Heh, glad some people like my "method." KNEW I shoulda gotten it patented. Sometimes I'll also use it to differentiate the difficulty level I play at if there are no separate tables for those; normal initials for defaults, then "EZ" or "VEZ" or whatever if I've turned the difficulty down.
Of course, I'd much prefer that developers would just give us an extra score table or two so that such innovation wouldn't be necessary, but oh well...

Good think that I don't...Blade wrote:I use ICE.
... even make it onto the tables!
I think that I'll start using ETA. I wub that level.
Also; If ever I make a game that includes a high score list, I'll make it both three-letter initial and katakana-capable. More than three letters, and it'll automatically turn the entry name into kana. It'll be perfect. (I had the idea while washing dishes last night. It's probably flawed.)
Hey! Maybe I'll date the scores too, because when I first started playing Giga Wing the other week, I started with "AAA" and incremented it one letter at a time after each play so that I could see how I was progressing (AAB, AAC, AAD, ...) -- If the scores were dated, they could even be graphed by entry name and... okay, this is starting to remind me of Virtua Fighter 4. Hmm.
