I think it lets them feel like they're part of something. Probably why they like getting catalogs in the mail and stuff.

You should send my chain letter around the office and see what they think
You could definitely add alot more to it. I wanted it to be as long as the original but got lazy pretty quickly.

My grandma actually complains about the kind of chain mail her friends send her all the time. "Ruth is such a whore!" Grandma will only ever send me ones about puppies or the occasional funny video.

This kinda silliness gives Christians an even worse name. And I love it when people throw around "the Bible says..." I bet about 20% of those sayings people come up with are even in the Bible and about 1% are actually used in their proper context.

yeah, i noticed the email says "I believe the Bible has warned us"

that doesn't sound very certain. it's likely another blatant mislead under the assumption that most people will be like 'THE BIBLE SAYS THAT OBAMA IS A TERRORIST! IT MUST BE TRUE!'

i could say that i believe that george w loves to eat penis, but nobody would believe me

Well, Emily Dickinson said this:

Faith is a fine invention
When Gentlemen can see--
But Microscopes are prudent
In an Emergency.

Of what earthly use to anyone but spamming address harvesters is the complete historiographical provenance of a forward? That bugs me more than content, TBH.
