I have one of those, got it for free, but never bothered using it as I thought it would only work with FPSes .... if I can use it with any game, it would be wonderful to play certain rythm games that needs special controllers that I don't own.. (Like Beatmania or Pop'n'Music)
How do I setup this thing?
yeah man, mine came with an instruction manual. i was gonna give you a quick rundown, but it would be too difficult since you need to know the default key layout in order to remap. here is a link where they offer the manual:

http://www.maxshooter.com/ps2.htm

anyway, the basics are, alt f1 - f12 for different profiles. you remap a key, you just hit escape twice, and then whatever key a button is currently mapped to on the keyboard (this is where you will need to consult the manual for the default bindings), and then the target key you want to change it to. voila. settings can be saved as well
Yeah, I got it, played some Beatmanina with it. Of course it's not even close to the real thing, but as I don't have the money to buy the proper controller for it.... it's a LOT better than playing with the Dualshock :D

I play all my shmups with my digital drum setup.
Connected with USB I can assign any button/direction to any drum input.

On a serious note, I baffled by highest score with keyboard claim. I gues it is what you are used to. And I guess getting laughed at is an extra drive to accomplish a high score. I laughed at the thread title. I will take keyboards more seriously now. So the best way is to play with 8, 6, 4 and 2. OK, thanks, noted.

what the hell, the angle of that picture with no background for frame of reference is making my eyes and mind warp. my left eye hurts now for real

yes... yes! my plan to convert everyone is slowly taking hold. it will start in the grassroots, but soon enough you will see keyboards hacked into arcade cabinets!!!!! (or not)
