shoe-sama wrote:asian languages use these sounds

ei- long a
e- short e i believe (schwa in Chinese)
i- long e
ai- long i
a- short o
ou- long o
u- double o

missing sounds
short a/i/u
long u

if you see an o it will always be long o
technically there's no o in Chinese, not sure if this applies to Japanese as well
Does not really apply to Japanese. Throwing all asian languages in a bag also is a bit silly.

EDIT: Also in case are trying to describe stuff with how things sound in English, you are bound to fail if you just give a letter and not an example word. A as in fat or as in fart.

This discussion also is very very silly. I have met no english person (or other nationality either) who pronounced stuff like Raiden or Tekken in the correct Japanese way. But what does it matter as long as people know what you mean?

And yeah, Japanese is very phoenetic and easy. Once you know all the vowel sounds their vowels make "a = ah, i = ee, u = oo, o = oh, e = eh," it becomes a lot easier =) They don't have long/short vowels or whatever like we do. None of this A = Ay or Ah nonsense.
If you know Japanese how come you didn't just read the katakana above the title indicating it's pronounced all as one word?
