If your goal is just a plain ol' 1CC then surely 1 or 2 bombs will take you past this bit?
The biggest unanswered question is where is the money? [1CCS]

since when Guwange is easy to 1CC? I didn't get the memo.
I find it easier than DDP or Progear to 1cc. It's probably subjective from player to player.

Shoe already did so, but this screenshot is from this video. Watch it, it's fun.

I'm not the greatest player and I was pretty close to a 1cc at the end of the week when it was played in STGT. Galuda and DDP are fairly easy. I know I could clear DDP if I focused on it, and have done Galuda once. If we're just going off of the easiest final boss pattern then I have to say ESP Ra.De. has probably the easiest.
Feedback will set you free.

Which Cave game have you 1cc'd then? :?:
I am mate & sadly none :( I'm still getting fucked by Ms. Garra, I can occasionaly kill the bitch with 3 lives, if I just remembered to bomb!!!!

I'll get it soon. I can generally get to the 3rd form in 1 credit. Soon.

I refuse to move on to DDP or Galuda until I clear this, though DDP loop 1 does appear to be easier thanks to the sheer number of bombs

that means youve 1CCed all 3 of them right?

seriously I didn't play Guwange that much but from what I remember its about 20 times harder than DDP to simply get to the later levels...

In DDP as soon as you can get to 20millions you pretty much have a free 1CC.

Just get EspGaluda, it's pretty easy to 1CC if you actually use your bomb. I did it without too much practice, and I'm not very good. Mushihime-sama original is also pretty easy. And like said, DDP's first loop is doable (but I guess it all depends on the player).

I wish they all felt 'pretty easy' to me. I can see they're all in my ability after some practice, but I woulddn't personally describe the process as easy.

Walking is easy for me, or spreading butter on toast, but on the sliding scale of my life even the easy Cave games feel hard compared to everything else I do. Except skating I guess, and I don't think of that as ludicrously hard, so maybe that puts things in perspective for me. What is easy, I guess, it getting carried away with thinking these games are so hard...

I finally pulled this off a few weeks ago. There's a little trick to it - the pattern starts out fairly intimidating, but when the side emitters rotate a bit, you actually get quite a lot of space to move around. Bomb first, then use up your kakusei (so you don't auto-barrier). Drilling a lot with real settings (load from a replay) helps too.

DDP 1st loop will hopefully be next, I'm finding it a lot more playable with replaced music.

Speaking of replaced music, Batsugun could pretty much be considered a Cave game; several people who worked on it later went on to Cave after Toaplan went belly-up, and Donpachi is practically a sequel to Batsugun. The first loop of its 'special' version is really easy. I can't compare it to galuda, but it's definitely easier than Dodonpachi's first loop. So you might want to give Batsugun a go.

Yeah that last pattern really isn't hard at all. All you have to do is sit in the lower middle, then dodge or bomb (without hitting the boss of course) towards the lower left. That whole area down there becomes safe and you can just ride out most of the boss. It just looks really intimidating is all.

Don't worry dude - no biggie!
Ah Miss Garra: Based on all of the information gleaned from this thread, I really put my practice gloves on, and low and behold...

I GOT THIS SCORE ON ESPRADE YESTERDAY!: :o

Image

My highest so far, reaching Ms Garra for the first time with 1 credit (and then getting my last remaining life handed to me.) 8)
Still, I'm well proud - that puts me about the middle of the list on the shmup high score table. I'm going to head over there now to submit it.

Tonight: More Esprade practice! :D

Done a few, some take a lot of work (Dangun), others not so much (Progear). If you're just trying to 1CC, planning out bomb use can help in getting you there, and practicing problem areas (ex. on an emu) can speed it up.
Fascination...

No. Cave games are not "easy".

Some are easier than others maybe, but none can be described as "easy" (well, maybe Deathsmiles...)

I'm stil beating you :P

10,908,060- stage 6 - Irori

The first (sometimes) & 5th forms of that whore Garra are a total bitch.

If i can get there with 1 more life (I need 3 full energy bars) I'll beat this. Maybe over the weekend the Mrs is away Fri-Sun so I'll have plenty of time

I beat DoDonPachi. I actually found that easier than DonPachi a long time ago.

But hey, that was a long time ago. And I never got to loop 2.

I just set my ESP RaDe PCB dips to Easy, 5 lives, extend at every 2 million points.

Still can't reach stage 6, though I was able to once or twice on full defaults years ago. I'm way out of practice.

Maybe I'll just bump the difficulty back to Normal, because I cannot notice any difference at all. It's still bloody hard for me.

The gauntlet has been laid down Markedkiller - you're on! :o

 If I had it at these settings I'm nearly 100% confident it'd be my first Cave 1cc in a matter of hours. I'd have about 10 lives by the end!

But that's not the way its going to go down - its normal all the way!

progear is the best if you grew up with more classical shmups imo. fourth boss can be pretty tough at times though :?

still, it can keep my attention forever.

So far, I've cleared 3 modes of Mushihime (everything but Ultra, working on that), and I've nearly got Progear beaten (just gotta get that final boss down without ramming it). I should also be able to clear Ra.De and Galuda if I actually make a real attempt at it, need to get around to doing that......

It's definitely all just a matter of practice. Not even so much individual games, but just as a whole.... keep playing, and your reflexes and precision and stuff will improve overall. That's how I've been doing this, and it doesnt just help with the shmups, but lotsa other games as well, Im finding. I went back to Ninja Gaiden recently, for example (the one that was on the Xbox, now Im playing the PS3 version), and that game used to TOTALLY kick my ass when I originally played it, could barely get past the chapter where the zombies show up for the first time.

Yet now, playing that, I've cleared each chapter so far with a Master rank, kicked the crap outta Alma (really annoying boss), and am looking forward to seeing what kinds of chaos the higher difficulty levels produce once unlocked.

I say, just keep playing, keep working on your reflexes and precision, and also pattern recognition, and you'll get there soon enough.

I'm fairly sure the Japanese commit ritual suicide if they fail too many times. It wouldn't help if they included little decorated sepuku swords with the special editions of their games.
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.

well .... I just passed 40 so honestly think age is against me on reaction times......

After growing up playing shmups ( Nemesis was my fave back in the day.... ) I somehow seemed to have pased them by in favour of fighters until end of last year when I got my first Cave board......

Now Im just onto getting my second Egret 2 and have 4 Cave boards
( RaDe / Galuda / DDP / Ibara )

Currently I just play to better myself ( RaDe is in at the moment .. but I only just worked out the scoring connection between secondary / primary weapons so should start racking things up ) ......

Having several boards the temptation uis to keep changing when you feel you cant progress, but you just got to focus and keep trying ( in my case before the dementia sets in  )

What have I re-learned.... there really is no luck..... the more I practice the luckier I get.......
